"I am once again shopping the internet for good prices, and see all the negative comments about many of the sites. To be fair I thought I should share my experiences. I have shopped Harmony only once, and had a fine experience. I ordered a UPS backup online on 2/5/02, for a good price, and received it on 2/13/02. Never had a reason to contact customer service, so was a "non-event"; just a normal shopping experience. I have shopped several other sites and have yet to have a bad experience. I do, however, plan to read the reviews before buying anywhere new. I would shop Harmony again; however, I did not need to return/refund/inquire, so perhaps a straightforward transaction works well, while others...?
UPDATE: OK, I lied, I did place another order with Harmony, on 2/11/02 for a Sony DVD Burner. It arrived 2/18/02, works just fine. No problems, so barring any snafu's in their shipping department I feel comfortable dealing with them in the future, especially if they have the lowest price.

"Awful Retailer - Don't Use Them - see MANY other posts below.

I first called Harmony after finding them on the internet on about 12/07/01. I placed an order for a Nikon Coolpix 5000 camera and a few accessories (total order $1668.92). The order was supposed to ship that or the next day with 3 day delivery as this was a Christmas gift for my husband. On 12/12/01, I called Harmony to see where the order was - not delivered yet. No one could tell me that they even had an order from me. I insisted and they finally admitted they had the order and they would ship it "overnight" which they did. After Christmas, my husband decided he did not want the 2X telephoto lens that I had ordered at Harmony's suggestion, but he would like the Nikon wide angle lens instead. By the way, Harmony did not advise me that one needs a lens adapter for either of these lenses for them to work. In early January, he called Harmony and got their Return Authorization, or RMA as they call it - RMA 500108. The customer services rep agreed to take the $189.99 telephoto lens back and ship both the wide angle lens at 169.99 and the lens adapter at 19.99. He agreed to pay the extra shipping charges - both ways, I might add. The telephoto lens was returned on January 15, 2002. After 3-4 weeks, no wide angle lens nor adapter arrived. My husband called Harmony to see what was up. They advised that the lens was on back order and they had no idea when it would ship. He and they agreed to wait for another week, but still no word. He then called Harmony to get a refund of the 189.99 for the telephoto lens. They agrteed to do this "right away". After several weeks, the wide angle lens showed up on the door step, but no adapter. I wrote an e-mail to Harmony customer service and gave them 48 hours to let us know when the adapter would ship or when the refund of the final 20.00 would show up. This was 2 weeks ago and we have heard nothing from them.
