"Don't order from them - very poor customer service and questionable food safety suggestions!
Harrington shipped a 6 pound ham, bacon and cheese in cardboard box with only one small gel pack (5.5x3.5 inches). Box is marked Harrington's of Vermont and only has very small area (2.5 x 1.5 inches) on top of box marked "perishable." There are no other markings to note that perishable items are enclosed. Beyond the small gel pack, there is nothing inside the box to help keep things cold.
Shipping to the West coast (cross country) took five days. The box was buried in other boxes and didn't get pulled out since it wasn't clearly marked.
Called and asked if it was safe to consume since it was five days to ship to the west coast and the cardboard box sat out of refrigeration for at least four days after delivery.
Bacon - "sure, cook it and it'll cook out all of the bad stuff"
Ham - "probably wouldn't recommend eating it"
Cheese - "unless it was melted, you can eat it"
"We only guarantee things for 48 hours out of refrigeration." It took five days to ship to the west coast - I guess that's there way of saying that they don't guarantee anything to the west coast!
Wow - underwhelmed by their response. Threw everything out.
No offer from them to help in any way. "
