"They do not require signatures on their FedEx delivery. I have a photo of fedex delivering and leaving the package in front of sign that reads “FedEx - Do Not Leave Deliveries here”. Now I have the headache of dealing with a stolen or lost package.” Hayneedle Customer support was horrible. Out now a $400 table. "
"Ordered a few of their rain barrels. Received an e-mail with an estimated delivery timeline. Delivery timeline came and went. I logged in to the account to check on things. See a notice that delivery was completed. I then pull up the tracking number and see no entries except paperwork being sent to the shipper. No activity in a week.
I end up e-mailing customer support and receive a reply to the effect of "looks like it's lost, oh well, here's a refund". I couldn't have the courtesy of being informed they never intended to deliver the product or they had stock issues. I had to go through their website, read conflicting delivery information and reach out to be informed that I had been wasting my time for weeks waiting for delivery to be completed when they had no intention of delivery or notifying me about the purchase.
If they were courteous or organized I could have ordered barrels from another supplier and received my items by now. Now I'm out several weeks of my time for nothing."
"Placed an order for a patio set which was listed as in stock and would be delivered within 2 weeks. I paid extra for the shippers to bring the set to my 3rd floor deck and unbox everything and put the pieces in place. After a week, the order is listed as backordered 6 weeks. Then a week later the set is listed as shipped? I contacted customer service and they said items were backordered. Not sure what to believe yet….so a few days later the shipper contacts me asking to schedule delivery and I did so, but they said they won’t bring the items inside because of COVID “restrictions”. Well there are none in my area, but according to them that’s their “policy”. So I call Hayneedle customer service to tell them that they shipped with a shipper that won’t do what I paid for. And that there is no way I’m lifting 600lbs worth of furniture with a bad back. They said sorry, they don’t have anyone else to deliver what I’ve already paid for. So basically I cancelled the order for who knows what they actually shipped and were actually unwilling to bring inside my home and just leave it in the street! No thanks, I’ll take my business elsewhere with a professional furniture company not some two-bit operation in bumblf*** middle of nowhere! Don’t waste your time with Hayneedle because customer service is like finding a needle in a haystack! Lol! "
"I ordered a dining set from Hayneedle. I should have known when the address was incorrect on my package that this was only the start of bigger issues. Once Hayneedle worked with FedEx to add my apartment number to the box, I was shocked when I received it. I'm not even sure you would call the packaging a box. It was very tattered and worn cardboard. Of course upon opening the package, the dining table was cracked in multiple places. Since I had already spoken to Hayneedle regarding the shipping debacle, I called right back to let them know the table was broken and sent images via email. They let me know that the supplier would be shipping a replacement tabletop and gave me a FedEx tracking number to track it. Over a week later, the supplier had still never even sent the tabletop to FedEx. I contacted a few times to inquire about the status and ask Hayneedle to contact the supplier to get my item sent out. Hayneedle gave me the run around and said to wait two more business days before they would refund me if the item wasn't set. The tracking finally updated, and the package was out for delivery today. Well guess what? Hayneedle forgot to give the supplier my apartment number AGAIN! FOR THE SECOND TIME!!! It is Saturday and Hayneedle customer service is closed until Monday morning. If I ever do get the table top, I probably won't even be surprised if the second table top. In fact, I am expecting that to be the case. This has been a stressful and completely horrible experience. To spend hundreds of dollars on something and to feel like you are getting scammed is the absolute worst. I wish I would have looked up reviews on Trustpilot before purchasing from this retailer. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM!!! You will definitely regret your decision."
"I purchased some outdoor chair cushions which arrived damaged but was unable to return them to this company. The "automated return" does not work, there is no phone # and repeated emails go unanswered. "
"Ordered an "In Stock" Better Homes & Gardens Rustic Country Desk. Received a confirmation. Received a ship date. Received a revised ship date a week later. This morning, two weeks later, I was informed that my order has been cancelled because it's out of stock."
"We recently ordered a dresser with matching end table. The end table arrived 1st and after unpacking it discovered that it was slightly damaged and was also of such poor quality that we immediately contacted (11/17/19) the customer service department. In our message we told them that the quality of the end table was such that we wanted to cancel the order for the matching dresser. We received an immediate response informing us that a FedEx pick-up would be sent within 24-hours for the end table, that the shipment for the dresser would be interrupted and canceled and that our purchase would receive a full refund. On 11/26/19 they attempted to deliver the dresser that was supposed to be cancelled, we refused delivery. We are now being told that they will charge us $211 for freight as the cancellation was a "preference return". Buyer beware... the items sold by Hayneedle represent a very poor quality (remarkably so) and their customer service department doesn't speak the truth. "
"I ordered 2 counter chairs from them about 2 months back and they botched my order the first time . Their website said item delivered but I never received the item . When I called them they asked me to place the order again and I did . And it has been 2 months since I placed an order and they have not delivered yet . It has been almost 3 weeks now since it was first scheduled to be delivered, but everytime as it gets closer to scheduled delivery date , they move it further away. They have a very poor supply chain management system and they do not own the inventory brighter for they have any leverage amount their suppliers . They say that the item is back ordered and that’s why it is taking time . But they already knew that when they rescheduled my delivery the first time . They randomly give me and estimate and one day prior to the expected delivery , they again postpone it . They have done it thrice . And when I call them they say that it is Upto the supplier and they have no info . It appears that they are more of a software platform that just connects us to suppliers . And the unfortunate thing is , they do not take the responsibility if something goes wrong . They just put it on supplier and you can’t deal with the supplier because there is a middle man here . Rest of the retailers also follow a similar business model but they have clarity into the process and have the leverage which helps consumers . They have a much more efficient supply chain management process . This company on the other hand just blames it on the supplier . But I have paid them they need to take responsibility since I trusted them and paid . I guess it is a hit or a miss . If things go fine then I guess it is not problem . But if something goes wrong , then they do not take the responsibility and you have to deal with them . I emailed them twice with no response . Called them to get them to look into this . They don’t have a sense of responsibility neither are they apologetic for the inconvenience that is caused to customers . This is probably my first and last time ordering from them . They should really work on serving customers better . Amazon and wayfair are a lot better when it comes to solving customer issues . I believe these companies are small and aren’t as skilled on how to run a sustainable business. I would request for price match with other retailers if something is cheaper here . Most of them offer a price match . It is a lot less hassle dealing with such irresponsible companies if things go wrong

"I ordered an island. It was missing parts. The product was very low quality. They sent me out a replacement which was obviously sent back from someone else. It was sent in a box that allowed it to get horribly damaged to where I couldn’t use any of the items. Yes they refunded it, but had I know it was such crappy quality I would have never bought from them in the first place. "
"I ordered Heritage Lace English Ivy curtains for my entire home. I had excellent customer service in the ordering process. They were very nice and helpful on the phone. Then my order shipped and it showed part of the order on the way, I didn't think a thing of this until I got another email telling me that part of my shipment would not be delivered for approximately two months.
I have company coming right around the ESTIMATED delivery date, so I popped online to see if I could find the items elsewhere. Guess what? The manufacturer themselves have the item, at a significantly higher price. I contacted hayneedle and asked if the date had changed and was told no. I said that I didn't understand how that could be when the manufacturer is selling them. I asked if they could order directly from them and have them ship it to me. I was told no, that the item is out of stock and told the estimated delivery date was still approximately the end of October. I asked if they would cover the price difference, they said no; maybe the other company would price match them. I asked if they would expedite my shipment; they said no.
I don't understand how in this day and age that their inventory cannot be better kept. I could understand if I ordered one item but I ordered multiple of this item and they didn't know until after the fact.
I thought that I'd found a new place to shop, but buyers beware! It may look like a good deal but don't hold your breath because after the order they don't seem to care much for their customers!"
"I’ve ordered A LOT of items from Hayneedle over the last two years. Two times now I’ve placed an order assuming the item would arrive on the promise date given at checkout. The previous order wasn’t something I needed right away, so I didn’t complain. The item I ordered yesterday wasn’t something I could wait over a month on. I tried to cancel the order when I received an email (over 24 hours after placing the order) stating I wouldn’t receive the item for three weeks after the original promise date. When I called customer service to cancel the order I was told they couldn’t guarantee they could cancel it. I find this ridiculous! If they had already shipped the item, I would certainly understand. If they were shipping the item within a week, I would understand. But this makes no sense to me. If I had been advised at checkout that the item wasn’t available for over a month, I would have ordered elsewhere, which isn’t an option now since they have already charged my credit card for an item that won’t be shipped for a month. "
"I purchased an item from Hayneedle via Walmart.com. I did not need the item (item is still brand-new) and wanted to return. Hayneedle made it extremely hard and never sent me the return label to ship the item back. First, they said it would take 24 hours to send the return label. I did not understand why it took them that long to process the return label. After 24 hours waiting and never received it, I contacted Hayneedle. This time they said it was sent. I checked my mailbox and the spam/junk folder and did not see any label. I contacted them again. This time, they said they would resend the label right away. I waited, and again no return label was provided. I contacted them again, this time they do not respond.
The item is only $34. I do not understand why Hayneedle would lie and does not want to take the item back. This is my first time learning about Hayneedle and I would advise all of you to stay away from this vendor. They are horrible. Please do business with Amazon which can save you time and headache. "
"Customer service is horrible! They will put a hold on your debit/credit card and then charge you, so you have to wait for the hold to fall off which in effect will put you out double the charge until this happens...sometimes 2-4 days."
"bought a greenhouse .delivered timely but received wrong panels and missing a couple of parts.. excellent customer service to take care of the problem. instructions to assemble need some clarification. otherwise a good purchase for me so far

"I ordered a Keter Tall Storage Cabinet from Hayneedle on March 1st. The web site showed the order in stock and I received an email with the order number and an arrival delivery date of Arrives by 03-13-2019. March 13th came and went and on March 14th, I contacted Hayneedle via their chat window. The agent checked and said the order had not even shipped from the supplier. I asked for the order to be cancelled and I was told a cancellation would be submitted to the supplier and I would have to wait for the supplier to "approve" the cancellation but it would take 72 hours to do this. Also, my payment would be held for up to 4 days. I feel lied to by Hayneedle and given the run around on how they are handling my order. If they can't deliver an item, they collected the money so they should refund the money. The cancellation should be a no-brainer guarantee rather than we will ask for a cancellation and see what happens. I will NEVER shop this vendor again and I urge anyone else to look for items from a different seller.
UPDATE: March 19, 2019 - I have purchased a similar item from a different seller. It HAS been shipped and is due to arrive on March 22, something Hayneedle couldn't do. From the new seller: Hi John, your order is being shipped! Your order will ship to: United States Estimated delivery: Fri, Mar 22
I urge shoppers to look elsewhere if you want to know if and when your purchase will REALLY arrive."
