"This seller is a con-artist. Don't buy from them. The camera I ordered (Canon EOS 20D USA) and lens never came. I called and was told they didn't exsist at the price I ordered. I was told my lense (Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8 IS USM USA) was a Chinese model and I was steared to a more expensive upgrade. Buyer beware!"
"I placed an order for the Canon Digital Rebel, then they called the very next day and wanted to “confirm” on the order, and I ended up getting other accessories since the price was competitive, not sure on the brand name and quality since I didn't ask. Not sure where my shopping instinct went that day :( . And they would not send me an invoice after I added those accessories and asked to send a copy over e-mail; they simply told me that “the invoice would be inside with the shipment.” They con me out of $158 for what they claim to be "shipping and handling" of the package, and this was charged on a 5lb UPS ground shipment. They originally claim on the phone with me they will charge a re-stocking fee, but then they gave the bullsh*t "shipping and handling" reason to the credit card company, very cunning. Although I outright refuse delivery shipment, and they still claim that UPS charged them round-trip fees. It’s clearly stated in the UPS service agreement, that if any package is un-open and return to the sender, the will only be a charge of just the one way shipping fee. And my credit card company states that they are not willing to fight for me to get part of that money back because they CAN’T do anything on charges of shipping and handling related fees, which should be at least $79. I ordered it from HelloCameras.com, which is another con name that Express Camera uses, and it appeared under Yahoo prefer merchant list too, so I didn't think to check the reseller ratings.
And before I refuse shipment, I called them MANY times and tell them I want to return the complete order because of all the bad ratings. They lied, con, and doing every which way that they can try to discourage me from doing it. They told me that they don’t sell gray market products, as claim by other posts here. I ended up calling them 4 or 5 times trying to try to return it, and every time they would give me some bullsh*t reason. On top of the reason, I had to wait like over 30 minutes before I would reach the first CSR to talk to, and if I get transferred to another “department” it would mean another 30 minutes plus wait again. They would tell me that they sell over thousand orders each day(maybe that’s true), and the people who left the negative feedbacks were just a very small percentage of the people. Also they told me that the other companies that had positive feedbacks had “paid those customers $25 to $30” for them to post it, and of course I told them that I had posted the positive feedbacks on other companies and never received any money; then that excuse all the sudden was no longer being brought up again. And they even try to con me to open and inspect the package to make sure that nothing is “broken” during shipping, so I can ask them for a RMA, which then I will not be able to prove that the contents are what they sent. So I asked is the package insured? They told me yes, that’s why I should open the package to make sure nothing is damage. So I called UPS, the UPS CSR then informed me that an open package will be charged for the return trip shipment fee once it's open. This may or may not be the reason, but when I thought this was a possibility, I just outright refused the shipment and not even going to touch it.
So if you want to keep those 5 or 10 years of your life, from not having to deal with these kind of people, I would stay away."
"I was told that my order would take 3 to 4 weeks to be shipped out and its been 4 weeks already when I placed an order for Nikon Coolpix 5400 and I haven'r received any confirmation by email nor by telephone. I called them and their numbers are already out of service. I emailed them for the status for 2 times and no response at all.
I have been waiting for 4 weeks for nothing!!!
Ordering from this store is my worst internet experience !!!!"
"HelloCamera uses below-street price on camera combined with required phone confirmation so they can add high priced extras and sky-high shipping ($125). Company is Express Cameras, Edison, N.J. No email or fax – phone transaction only. No itemized receipt so they can change the refund price when item is returned, after you wait 30 minutes on hold and argue for another 30 minutes to get the RMA. They will not email or fax a pre-order price breakdown. Be prepared to be ripped off in dealing with these high-pressure people. And the Canon lens may be gray market, unless you pay extra."
"I was very dissappointed with hellocamera.com. I received my order after 2 monht from the order date. I did not receive what I have ordered. Namely on the phone I was told i gonna get charger and batteries along with a free full size camera case. I did not receive it. When I have called them I was told I can order these items additionally. Oh, and I wasn't told at first that for the web price I get only the camera body so I had to make additional order. So, I do not recommend this seller. They are not reliable. You don'd get email confirmation of the shipment, you don't grt ups tracking number and the cost of shipping are sky high (40 usd for 2 items). So, don't buy there!!"
"Placed order for $1800.00 worth of camera equipment on a Thursday, agreed on 3 day delivery, promised I would have it by 10/15/03--never got-called shipping didn't have an order or anything under my confirmation #--called customer no service, held 30 minutes, no one--even tried leaving message--wouldn't work--emailed them to cancel order and contacted my credit card company--Bad news--do not deal with these folks."
"Customer Service people is "pathetic". One has to wait on hold for, sometimes, more than 30 min to talk to a person. They are not friendly. They haven't given me the tracking no. of product I have bought, and I don't know when are they going to send my product. I wished I had bought it from some other site like WolfCamera. "
"These are one of the bad guys. The also operate as Express Camera.com. See ResellerRatings.com for those comments. The sell grey market gear and try to pass it off as the real thing. When confronted, they try to make you pay a 10% restocking fee on equipment you never opened. They also insist, when you return your merchendise, you send a check or money order for the restocking fee or they won't take it back. (That way, you can reverse the charges on your credit card).
I'm at risk of losing $315 plus, the shipping fee I sent back. When asked directly if they use grey market equipment, they lied to me. Also, expect to get upsold, or cross sold, or baited and switched, and number of other problems. Oh, and don't let the Top Seller Yahoo logo fool you. They've somehow rigged the system, so they look reputable. I'm talking to Yahoo about it and I'm trying to get them to take action. If you wish to join me in a letter writiing campaign, please email me at ****@****. Thanks, together, we might be able to put these folks out of business. "
"When I called to confirm my online order, the sales rep was extremely pushy about ordering more products and accessories for my camera. I repeatedly told him I was not interested, even though he kept reducing the price of the items. Finally, after realizing I was firm about no further purchases, he gave me my total which was considerably higher than what was agreed on at the order site. I argued with him about this price and he was rude and adamant. I cancelled my order because I do not want to do business with a company whose sales reps use these type of tactics to increase their sales. They lost over a $450.00 sale. I went to another website and had no hassles and a prompt delivery. I would not purchase anything from this company because of their practics, and I wrote them an email telling them what happened."
"Please don't buy products from this vendor. We ordered a camcorder from this vendor and got a defective product. We returned the product back and they only paid back us 50% of what we paid. We were so upset about this shopping experience and already filed a complaint with the Better Business Practice Bureau in New York. But I won't give up. I will tell everyone I know not buying product from this vendor. The sales guy was rude and he threatened us when we returned the product. The customer service representative was unprofessional and she will greet you improperly and put you on hold forever. This is absolutely not a reputable company and please stop buying product from it. "
