"My teen for the most part had a good experience. However, the wait time to receive the student id and proofs was ridiculously long. A female high school student arrived with her mother who by the way was the only parent not wearing a mask and skipped the line. Since she is related to one of the owners, she only waited about 15 minutes for her proofs. One of the staff members said that the office understood she is so-so’s niece therefore she is a priority. Very nice to all the students and their parents waiting over 40 minutes to receive theirs. Miami is known for entitled individuals and they were the perfect examples."
"I ordered my graduation cap and gown from this company and because of their complete lack of competence I will not be receiving it in time for my graduation. Obviously, I will not be able to participate in the graduation ceremony. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME WITH THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY!!"
"Cannot get in touch with customer service nor will our rep answer his phone. Classrings were not delivered. Going on 5 months now and they will not respond. Unless you want to get ripped off and enjoy seeing your child disappointed stay away from these jerks."
"Herff-Jones claims to be a customer centered company. While some of the staff members are very friendly, they deliver YOUR ring the way THEY want it. Here is my case in point:
I asked them to put my name in the center of my ring. They said they could not because "HJ" was near the center of the ring from the mold. So, I asked them to put nothing and send the ring. When I received my ring I had "HJ" filled in and sent it back to them requesting they engrave my name in the center. They engraved "HJ" front and center and put my name on the side near the back of the ring.
My wife, my kids and I have 7 Jostens rings. They have great customer service and all of rings are made to our specifications with our names in the center.
If you want a "customer centered" ring company, just ask where they write their customer's name. If it is not in the center of the ring, move on!"
"I ordered my nursing pin in March with the expectation that it would take up to 6 weeks for the order to process and ship. Our school had made note that they are reputable and are typically on time. Well, it's 9 weeks later and I have still not recieved my pin but they made sure to charge my card! I have contacted customer service several times via email, through the CS contact on their website, and phone calls to no avail. All I got as far as an update (from local sales rep who's contact I got from calling my school bookstore) 1 week ago was, "it did ship from our warehouse but no tracking # was made, so we don't know where it went but we're working on it." Now, the local sales rep will not respond to my calls or emails. I'm out >$60 and they could care less.
Horrible customer service. Would NOT recommend. "
"We ordered our college graduation announcements as soon as we got the email to do so. The order was placed April 11 for a May 22 ceremony. Today is May 18 with no sign of them. I have called at least 10 times with a hold time of at least 30 min. on each call to see where the order is and gotten nowhere. There has never been any communication, email, phone call etc., from Herff Jones as to when we can expect to receive them. So frustrating and sad for one of life's a monumental achievements. "

"First off I would like to say Herff initially messed up by sending me two grad packages, one intended for a grad in Iowa (I live in MD). Within the next week in the early hours of the morning I kept getting emails about declined purchases on one of my privacy.com cards. Herff announced the next day that their database had been targeted and some grass had gotten their money stolen. If I had used my debit card, like alot of other peers had used, I would have had 3k stolen from my bank account. Stay away from Herff if you can, this was a series of unfortunate events that this business could have prevented. "
"I’ve had two awful experiences with them! They’re the worst at responding to customer concerns and didn’t refund my first order that I never received because the pandemic canceled my first graduation. They told me they will refund but never did. For my second graduation this month they have yet to answer or email me back to get an update on my order. "
"I ordered a cap and gown, and the cap was missing. Since I was just going to use them for a photoshoot (Covid, so no in-person ceremony), I returned the package after contacting them to get a refund. I kept calling them because I was not receiving a refund, I called them 4 times, each call about 2 hours wait. This is ridiculous. It's been 7 weeks since I returned the package, still haven't received a refund. "
"Since we have twins, I called to ask about purchasing 2 cap and gowns because the website would not allow separate purchases. The condescending customer service rep stated it had to be done separately due to personalization which is a lie because 1. the software is basic and available to allow for multiple personalized items, and 2. there was no personalization needed to the cap and gown. The handling fee, though, is $12.50 which is ridiculous and that is why they want it ordered separately, I believe. It has nothing to do with the system limitations or to 'make it easier' as the representative stated. "
"I tried to place an order for $193 and they were going to charge me $40 for shipping. That's ridiculous. They said that each type of item ships from a different location, and there's no discount or for shipping, no matter how much you spend. They're the ones with the logistics problems - don't pass it on to customers.
Really poor service. I'm going somewhere else. Nice that they think they have a corner on the market. "
"Here is what you should do, call their number ***-***-****. Try to reach a person for ANYTHING. I guarantee, you will never consider buying product, any product, from them. They will place you in a perpetual loop of phone prompts to keep from providing service.

"In early March, I ordered a cap and gown for my college graduation that was scheduled for May 9th. In late April I got an email that it had entered into manufacturing. It is now June 20th and my items have yet to SHIP. I understand production was temporarily halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but many of my peers who ordered their items after me (even within a week of graduation) received their items before our commencement ceremony.
In May, when I realized my order seemed to be late, I called. After 3 WEEKS of calling every other day, being on hold for 2+ hours, leaving a call back number multiple times and not being able to make contact with ANYONE, I gave up on calling. I then sent an email detailing the situation and saying that I wanted a refund as I no longer needed the items.
Another week later, after no response, I called again and finally reached a representative, a whole month after my graduation. I was told that the order was probably late because I filled out the form incorrectly. I then confirmed that the form was filled out correctly and was told that “some people received their orders on time and some people didn’t, we can’t control that”. I got NO apology or reasoning for the fact that I paid to have my items for a ceremony that had happened more than 4 weeks prior. They also informed me that they could not process my refund because my order was too far along in the process and would be shipping in 3-5 days.
It has now been 2 weeks since I was informed that the order would ship in 3-5 days. I called a few days ago and was told the items haven’t shipped yet, and was transferred to the supervisors answering machine. I left a message and haven’t gotten a call back from the supervisor. I am fairly certain I am being scammed.
I know that you can’t avoid using this company if your school chooses to source their cap and gown rentals here, but just know that their processes are poorly structured and their customer service is non-existent. This is one of the worst and most frustrating experiences I have ever had with a company. "
