"This is quite possibly the worst store to deal with. Instead of actually telling me they didn't wany my buylist order after I send it in, they waited until it got there, then refused to accept the package from the post office. I had to wait until it was denied to find out there was something wrong. When I called and asked "Hey, was there something wrong that you denied my order, didnt' call text or email me, and I am only now finding out about it." They said that there was an error on their end, and I should have known they weren't offering as much as they SAID THEY DID ON THEIR WEBSITE on 2 out of the 500 cards I sent. So rather than being grown ups, they decided to hide, pretend it was MY FAULT, reject the rest of the order, and then the owner LAUGHED at me for being upset, and informed me he wouldn't refund the shipping costs I incurred thanks to HIS WEBSITES ERROR! Why anyone would want to work with these people is beyond me. "
"I have bought multiple orders from Hobby Goblins for the last year and have always had terrific service. He ships immediately; he packs very well; his inventory is great; the cards are always the exact condition he advertises. This is the first place I look at when I am looking for cards. On my first order the package did not come, and the owner immediately took care of it by sending me those cards without any question. I recommend the shop without reservations."
"What a joke, stay far far away from these conmen. The guy who runs it David Hayes is a notorious criminal in the MTG community. I placed an order on 11/23 and it is now the 3rd of January, I have yet to receive my cards OR a refund. No response to emails, calls go unanswered or I am just plain lied to (check is in the mail type crap). I have started paypal arbitration for my 83.18$ back. I will be warning everyone I know and screaming from the rooftops what scum these guys are."
"I had a great experience with Hobby Goblins. I asked a question via e-mail and it was answered within 24 hours. The shipping was really quick, and the only mistake was that I got 1 extra card in my 300+ card order. The prices are great, especially if you are fine with the older sets. The website format is not the greatest (just a little outdated), but the search function works just fine if you know what you want. Overall, I was very pleased with my order and will definitely be ordering from it again."
"Unprofessional seller. Do not waste your time purchasing from him. Sure, the prices are low, but its not worth the headache trying to get him to actually ship cards to you, and if you dont even receive cards after two weeks, what does it matter how cheap they were?
He "ran out of stock" of both Jace, the Mind Sculptor and Gideon Jura as soon as my payment cleared. He made some weak promises about "picking up some cards when people come in for FNM" and refunding me if he couldnt find the cards; this was after both Jace and Gideon had jumped in price almost $10 each.
When I brought up these issues, instead of being apologetic, he indignantly insisted that somehow it was my fault for paying by echeck (I placed the echeck immediately upon winning the auction) and refused to complete the transaction, telling me "you can do your best to find the cards".
If you have better luck with this seller, congratulations, but from the look of the comments on his bidwicket profile (slow to ship seems to be a common complaint) it looks like he just runs an unprofessional, sloppy business."
"I found HobbyGoblins.com by searching for Magic Cards via www.findmagiccards.com and I chose them because they had very low prices on many of the cards I was looking for.
The site was easy to navigate and the ordering process was simple. There was a slight delay in the actual fulfillment of the order (I placed the order on Sunday 04/11 and it was not actually shipped until Thursday 04/15) but it's common to wait around a 4-7 days to get cards from anywhere as it is.
I talked to Mr. David on the phone and he was very professional and cordial and my cards arrived in the conditions described on the site and in a plastic sleeve. I had a fairly large order of cards and just a few were missing from the order. I e-mailed them to let them know of the error and he quickly replied that it was a mistake on their part and they are sending them in the mail now.
HobbyGoblins.com has some very excellent prices so if you don't mind waiting a week or so for your cards it is worth buying from this site. "
"I ordered some cards from hobbygoblins.com on December 28th, didn't hear anything for a week and finally called them up (I know it's the holidays and all, but if their site is up and selling, then they're selling). This guy David tells me that he's been having all sorts of problems with this and that and all sorts of excuses, then says the order will go out the next day.
I wait another week. Nothing.
I called to ask what is going on with my order. More problems with this and that...bad timing...really sorry...missing cards/stock blah blah blah.
"But I refunded your Paypal payment." Nope, didn't get a refund and didn't get any email notification.
"Well, my computer's down right now...I thought I had one of my guys refund you?" Nope.
Finally I demand an immediate refund (that same day) via PayPal and see nothing posted until the following day.
Hobbygoblin.com's service is a joke and this David guy is full of excuses, lies and B.S.
I've had much better luck with gamingetc.com and channelfireball.com.
P.S. This is not an invoice number--they don't provide invoice numbers...go figure."
