"Most of the time home advisors is right on the money but they didn't a lot of exterminators & they were to far."
"VERY UPSET that I received a phone call from the contractor in my area. In NO WAY did I want anyone calling me, big turnoff, I deleted your app. If I want to call someone I found I expected to do it on my timeline and not be bugged by someone calling me. Ugh!!"
"Website too busy. Needs to be simplified. Larger font."
"Don't survey me before even a proper introduction!"
"I received answers, before I even thought of the question. Very thorough. I'm Impressed."
"Did not like multiplease places calling me and am not going to give my address"
"Informative sight. Provides good information."
"I know I can trust it. Both calls were very good."
"Love this site pro screened big plus"
"Just wish I could contact the pro I want from the site rather than getting bombarded with phone calls from all the pros Home Advisor suggested. That's what I was expecting."
"very easy to use- especially to find workers close by."
"I've used homeadvisor in the past several times and have always been satisfied"
"I had a home cleaning person with wonderful references. She came every other week for about 3 months. Finally, when I looked for $500 in coupons at Christmas time, the had disappeared. I also had about $500 in postage tapes to cash in for my supervisor and they, too, had disappeared from their hiding place in the back of a drawer. That meant she searched thru my drawers. So much for background checks. Will never use them again. I have gotten service people cold out of the newspapers and never had problems. BE CAREFUL WHO YOU LET IN YOUR HOME!!"
"This is a re-branding of the former ServiceMagic which had a badly tarnished reputation when the mother corporation IAC bought and renamed it HOMEADVISOR. The tactics are the same, NEVER believe the ratings without independently verifying the information. The reason is that they basically extort money from any contractor they can squeeze the money out of.
Do not confuse this with an non-profit such as consumer reports or checkbook.org which are truly non-profits.
This company makes it's money by pressuring contractor's to pay them and in return fluffing up the appearance of the company to the public.
The idea that they do background checks on all the employees of all their contractors is preposterous, don't believe it.
My advice is to check your state's Department of Licensing and the Better Business Bureau for free and take HomeAdvisor's information with a grain of salt."
"Using home advisor was very easy. Right away I found someone who offers free estimates for the kind of home improvement I need."
