I only wanted to look up contractors but both times, I ended up getting texts, calls and emails from other contractors. I was able to find someone, but hate telling the contractors who called that I'm not interested."

"Home Advisor gave us three possible tree removal companies. Only one had previous ratings (4.5 average from 85 reviews). I contacted the rated company and set a date and time for an estimate. I than contacted one of the other two suggested companies. They were so responsive and reasonably priced that we gave them the job which they completed before the rated company was scheduled to come out to estimate the job!
I realized that I should make sure the rated company didn't waste time coming out and contacted Home Advisor to have them cancel the estimate. Several days passed and I received no survey from H.A. to rate the job performance of the contractor. I finally called them to see why not and the fellow I talked to told me how I could get their website to provide me with that opportunity (I was given the option of having him just put my rating in but chose to use the website so I could leave a more detailed account). Perhaps the speed with which our tree removal took place made me less patient than I should have been, but otherwise there may be a glitch in the system which this situation highlights and should be corrected. When a contractor performs this well they deserve recognition. My thanks to Home Advisor for helping us get this job done!"
