"There is a reason HomeCenter.com has a D+ rating on Better Business Bureau.*
Slow/no shipping. Zero communication. Terrible service.
I order a lamp, only to find out AFTER they charge my credit card that it will take a month before it ships. More than a month goes by and they still haven't shipped. I contact them by email multiple times throughout a week to get an update (no phone listed) and they do not respond. I had to cancel my order through the credit card company. Only then did they respond saying they are sorry and hope I consider them again. Yea right!
* Although they still falsely advertise an A rating on their website."
"I'm a contractor who typically buys my higher end fixtures online. I recently made a purchase from HomeCenter for the first time. My choice was based strictly on price. They DO have good prices. They also have what is BY FAR, WITHOUT A DOUBT, the WORST customer service I have ever experienced with an online store. They only communicate through emails and if they don't want to, they simply do not respond. I have been trying to resolve an issue with a return for over two months now. Despite dozens of attempts, no one will respond to my emails. They have no phone service listed with the company address given on the website.
I will NEVER purchase from this site again even if it means paying a higher price elsewhere. For me, it's worth paying a few dollars more to deal with a reputable company that will do right by its customers.
HomeCenter is NOT that company."
"My order was placed on July 16 and they took my money upfront. Their website says that all items ship in 3-7 days unless on backorder in which case you'll be contacted within 10 days. None of this happened and I contacted them through their response and inquiry system after 12 days to see the status. They DO NOT have a phone number, which should have been a major warning sign, so I trusted in their system. I did not receive a response and waited. At 3 & 1/2 weeks after initial order I contacted them again and said I needed to have my items or I would like a refund. The customer service response was a generic message with confirmation number (received that 3 times by then, so I didn't need that) and a note that they'd contact me when it shipped. I was very unhappy with the generic message and responded that if they couldn't ship it in 2 days, then cancel the order and refund my money. Surprise, they shipped 5 days later. But....
one of the items was an obvious return because parts were missing and other parts had been cut. So I again contact customer service through their weak electronic tracking system (remember they have no public phone number!?) as soon as I open my package and inspect my items and see the missing and used parts. To my surprise and temporary delight, I get a response the next day and I am told they are contacting supplier to report issue and will get back to me with a course of action. The following week I have still received no response so I again ask about when i am finally going to have my whole order which I paid for 5 weeks earlier. No response. Nothing - silence. I have been ignored. It is now 3 months since they took my money and I have never received the missing parts or a replacement for an obviously used or returned item. I can understand how these things can happen, but I cannot understand how a customer service department can be so absolutely absent. There has been zero customer service. They'll take your money and you'll take your chances, but pray you don't need customer service help. And remember, they have no phone! You will not get to talk with someone if you have a problem. They'll hide in the electronic void. I am obviously very unhappy, but as far as I can tell from my experience, customer service at this company does not exist. Caveat emptor."
"I have been trying to get HomeCenter.com to refund money for a Mico faucet since May 22 it is now October 13th. First they delayed giving me an RGA (return mumber). Two months later I finally got one. I sent the product back and Mico credited them the money September 17. Brian said that there was a mix up and that I would be credited immediately, nope didn't happen...It's been 5 months since the initial return request and still no refund."
"My experience ordering a custom medicine cabinet was excellent. I was impressed with their proactive communication from order placement to delivery. In addition, they were very responsive to e-mail queries. No issues or problems; would recommend for both value and service."
"I just made a huge mistake. My sink was due to be delivered 2 weeks ago. Customer Service has not replied to me and I am afraid I am now out my money, no sink, and a huge delay on my kitchen project~!!!"
"I am actually quite upset. They told me only yesterday (29 Aug) thjat they can't ship out for 4 weeks! I will probably have to cancel."
"Homecenter never responded directly to my emails that my account was charged for the product but never received. the tracking number provided by HomeCenter to track my order was not for my order but was an order placed by someone else and delivered to someone else. A complaint and Investigation and request for return of debited funds had to be pursued through the bank card company."
"Recieved my product with in 2 days. I am very satisfied. Thanks"
"I had been looking for some lighting for my bathroom and came across homecenter.com and saw they carried the products I was looking for at a great price. I had read some reviews that were mixed, but it appeared most people received their products and most complaints were for the time it took to receive their products. I guess the reality is in this economy that it will take some time to recieve items as companies are keeping low inventories and things are on back order. Upon placing my order I was told the estimated shipping date would be in 26 days and would arrive within a week or so after that. I received communications with shipping information and received the products in less than a week after the estimated shipping date. The items were the ones I had ordered and were in good condition except a small glass shade that was broken by UPS, and was not homecenter's fault. Overall I was satisfied with my purchase, and would do business with again. "
"They are terrible to work with if you have to return something or email them a question. I have sent multiple emails with no response. When I do get a response it has taken days for them to respond to each one. I am VERY frustrated with their cusotmer service. By the way, it has been months and I still do not have my money back yet.
"
"I will never use this company to purchase anything. I recently ordered a light fixture and never received a delivery confirmation. They've billed my credit card and still haven't gotten back to me about delivery, despite several emails having been sent. They do not have a phone number to contact them, and they ignore your emails. Good luck trying to get your money back from them. They advertise low prices, but its just a scam. I would never recommend them to anyone."
"I would not recommend doing business with this company. Yes, we received our towel rack, ordered 2 months ago. The other item still has not arrived. My credit card was charged the date of the order, so they've had my money the entire time. There isn't even a phone number to call. Questions via email regarding the faucet I ordered have gone unanswered. So now I have to jump through hoops to get the $371.46 charge on my VISA card reversed. I have a word to describe HomeCenter: SLEEZY!"
"Do not order from this store!
If you do, don't trust them when they say something is "in stock" or when they give you an estimated shipping date.
Don't expect them to give you a phone number to call. Don't expect them to respond to customer service requests via email in under 2 days.
Don't expect them to cancel your order after you request a cancelation due to their unresponsiveness and failure to provide a shipment tracking number. In fact, expect them to have the shipment sent anyway, more than a week late and several days after you requested cancelation.
Don't expect any contrition on their part for their miserable customer service. And get ready to call your credit card company. "
