"I am a professional contractor who uses HomeAdvisor for leads. I live in small community where advertising is expensive. Therefore, I am compelled to use HomeAdvisor to get jobs. However, it is very difficult to justify the cost of HomeAdvisor. I have to pay about $270 per year for membership. About 70% of the leads do not pan out, but I still get to pay for them. I often cannot contact the homeowner or they think I charge too much. Even if I get a job, 30-40% of the invoice goes to pay for the lead. Not at all cost effective. It is very dificult to get credit or a refund for a bad lead from HomeAdvisor!"
"13 leads, only able to talk with 2, last one hung up on me, when I mentioned Homeadvisor. Tried to get credit for account online- Denied.
Called in and talked to multiple departments and explained the situation- Denied credit.
Home advisor stole 395.64 from my Company."
"We worked with Homeadvisor as one of their pros 2 years ago. We spent more on wasteful leads then we made in actual work.
They convinced us this year to try again and here is the list of items they did to waste our time. Did not return calls when the leads came in and they were wrong When I finally got someone on the phone she said we had 400 leads but only6 had come to us. She also said we were set up to receive leads from 3 states - we requested 10 specific zip code, not 3 states They charged us 287.99 for leads that were wrong They promised 100 free leads - did not get that
Set up our user name as someone we never heard of.
I do not recommend them at all!"
