"I have been with Hostgator for years without almost any issues. I have a reseller account which I have about 20 of my customers on. Then the harddrive crashed on Saturday at 6 AM. It took until Monday at 11 AM to fix the issue. They did not give any indication when it would be back up and running and I wasted 10 hours dealing with the problem. Then customers started calling with more issues. I sent in a new support ticket and they said they know about and are working on it. That was 4 days ago and it is STILL not fixed. No updates or any indication of when the problem will be resolved. Now it is almost a week and they have no idea when. I will never use their services again. Completely unacceptable. I have been hosting websites for 12 years and I have never seen anything like it."
"I was SO excited about HostGator when we first switched everything over to them in 2009. Things were smooth, customer support was on it, & I referred them to anyone & everyone. The last year or so, for whatever reason, support has been half-witted, affiliate payouts have never been paid, & when contacting them, they are completely unresponsive. Either they got big in the head & no longer see themselves as a smaller dedicated to their customers kind of company, or just really don't want to deal with their customers. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend them, suggest them, and am in the process of leaving & taking handfuls of clients with me."

I have several sites on my account (a few of which are somewhat resource-intensive) and all of them run smoothly, quickly, and with very little downtime.
The free cPanel control panel (other hosts charge an extra monthly fee for cPanel access; don't even get me started on GoDaddy's in-house atrocity) can't be beat in terms of ease-of-use and control. It's the icing on the cake.
Most importantly, their customer service is top-notch in terms of quality. I have asked very specific questions and in response received specific, detailed, HELPFUL answers. Even better, I usually receive responses within hours--or even minutes!"

I have about 20 web sites and host them all with Hostgator on the baby plan for $10 a month. I like the fact that one plan can host all of my sites in their control panel. I've used other hosting providers before (cough NOdaddy) and am very impressed with the level of support I get form Hostgator. I haven't had any noticeable downtime, and the server seems to be very fast for hosting wordpress.

"One of the most reliable "overselling" hosts in existence. Uptimes have been on the order of 99.7-100% for each month, which is definitely saying something. Overall, they seem to be more reliable than DreamHost, which is good in itself. Some services require additional verification (e.g. SSH), but unless you have something to hide, there's no harm done in getting what you paid for."
"Host gator. A wonderful Hosting service. For 9.95 a month, I get; 120 gb of space, 1 TB of monthly bandwidth, unlimited ftp users, unlimited e-mail addresses, 25 email lists, unlimited sql databases. The list goes on and on. Their customer service is quick, nice and helpful. In the 6 or so months that I've had my website, its only been down once, and for a total of 5 minutes. As soon as I found out that it was down, they had my site back up in a matter of seconds from me notifying them. I would reccomend them to anyone and everyone.
For another 5 dollars a month, I could get 200gb of storage and 2TB monthly bandwidth. They are amazing."
