"After much online, and in-store searching, I decided to purchase my Callaway Diablo Edge Iron set from Hurricane Golf. I had some online questions that the service rep quickly and completed answered to my fullest satisfaction. I received the set the very next day to my surprise. Upon inspecting the clubs I found a deep nick in the face of the 3-wood and quickly emailed Hurrican Golf about the discovery. They again were most helpful and understanding and immediately sent out a replacement club which again I recieved the very next day. "Prices at Hurricane Golf appear great but I had several problems with my order and ended up quite disappointed.
First, while entering my order at around 10:00pm (EST) on a Monday evening, my shopping cart was spontaneously cleared by their web site. When I re-entered my club selections, the prices on at least two clubs had increased by $30 each. Re-entering took at most, five minutes. Hurricane Golf tells me this isn't possible. I ordered the clubs anyway but this troubled me.
Second, at about 3:20pm (EST) on Tuesday afternoon, someone from Hurricane Golf called to say that the last set of clubs I'd orderd had just been sold to someone else - would I care to order a different set? I asked why their web site showed the clubs as in stock when I had ordered the clubs 17 hours ago. The explanation was that web orders are hand-entered during the day (not automated) so inventory displayed on the web page may be innacurate. I cancelled my entire order (over $1000).
About an hour later, someone from Hurricane Golf called back and offered me a discontinued set of clubs from the same manufacturer at a slight discount. The alternate clubs were somewhat similar but used an entirely different design. I declined.
My experience may be unusual - I hope others do better. Customer service was always courteous but never offered a solution other than a different set of clubs.
