"My wife bought the experience for me as a birthday gift. It was the first time Imagine Lifestyles brought their service to Charlotte NC and I read some reviews from other cities and some of them made me really worried about the experience. People complained about the rider not allowing them to go fast, or that the cars weren't manual transmissions.

After doing the experience myself now I can so that those negative reviews were dead wrong.

I got to drive a Lambo on a pretty decent course. The rider/instructor who was with me was actually pushing me to drive faster, brake harder, make the wheels spin, cut the turns tight. I was thrilled.

As for the cars not being manual transmission... these are exotic cars with electronic transmissions and paddle shifters. The car I was driving was going over 60 in first gear, and frankly the course is so small with so many turns I never got out of second gear. I love my sports car with a 6 speed gearbox but we're not even talking about the same class of car here.

It was the most fun I'd had in a long time, and I can't wait for them to come to NC again.

Also, the video. They attach a GoPro camera to your helmet so you get a video of the experience. I love the video, but I wish I had a matching video of the view outside of the car going around the track. When I do it again I'll have my wife record from the spectator stands as well as doing the GoPro helmet cam, that way I'll have both."

"We showed up 15 minutes early for our appointment time, then waited in line for 20 minutes to check in. After that we were directed to another line. This one took 2 hours to get through. When we got towards the front we were given helmets that were coming straight off of other drivers. We found out they do have liners, but had to talk to 3 people to get them. When we finally got to the car it was fun. The local driver they hired was nice and did a great job, but overall I would not recommend this. The long wait wasn't worth the 10 minutes in the car."

"The driving experience was exhilarating. The registration was smooth and it was easy to add another drive to my package at that time. The companion driver-passengers gave great advice to help get more out of the experience. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Everyone was very friendly. The photos their photographer took look great and the video from my helmet-cam was downloaded a few days later. The cars were in great condition and handled superbly (as expected). The course was well designed to get the most fun for a 1st time exotic car drive."
