"Some time ago from another reseller, I ordered my 10yr old son the Lego Mindstorm NXT 2.0 with aspirations of building the Alpha Rex robot featured predominantly on the cover. After building several of the NXT 2.0 included projects, we attempted to build the robot only to learn the NXT 2.0 does not contain all the required parts.

Gloom and despair...

With a bit of research however, I ran across "Inanimate Reason", and there offering of the "Unofficial Mindstorms NXT 2 to 1 Retrograde Kit Item# NXT21KIT" priced at a bit less than $100 w/shipping.

After a couple of emails and receiving prompt and courteous responses to my questions, I ordered this package and received it within a few business days.

I did look into buying the NXT 1.0 to compliment my 2.0 kit, but the best I could find were questionable "kit complete" used offers for $300+. And, the only "new" listings were around $500+, but you can expect this since Lego no longer offers the 1.0.

It irritates me that Lego would feature a NXT 1.0 design on the 2.0 box you cannot build. But, thanks to Bill at Inanimate Reasons, I can now put this together and the problem is solved.
