"I placed an order on August 10, 2013 for a chair in the Outlet section. At the time shipping was charged at $17.00. On August 14, 2013 $217.00 was withdrawn from my share-draft account. The chair was not delivered nor did I receive any communication from the company. After I contacted the company two times by phone, I did receive a return call. At that time, four weeks after the money was withdrawn from my account, I was told an error occurred in shipping charges. Three days later I was informed the new shipping charge would be $100.00. I told the representative I would need to reconsider and get back to him. After discussing the situation with my husband, the astronomical increase in shipping was not acceptable, nor was the company willing to work with me. A heated conversation ensued this morning. The Inhabit representative, whom I believe was the owner-- Mike Tuttle, was interrupting, talking over me and not listening to my frustration nor my request.
After the horribly unprofessional treatment I ended the phone call.
Mistakes happen, I completely understand. However, customers are typically treated with respect and a professional and timely resolution occurs.

"Five pillows were purchased through Inhabit Living's website - http://www.inhabitliving.com.

Down-pillows were never purchased in my family with Inhabit Living's being our first. Upon opening one of the five packages, I noticed an allergic reaction from my daughter. Our doctor recommended we stop use of the pillows since her symptoms indicates down feathers are an allergen that will worsen her health.

I immediately contacted Inhabit Living & request the permission to return the purchase.

I understand companies have policies to protect themselves from consumers & businesses. However, companies should also be flexible in their policy & make exceptions in special circumstances.

In Inhabit Living's case, they refused to allow a return of down-fill pillows purchased through their online store.

Reason for the return request: I didn't know my family is allergic to down feathers until they started sneezing, eyes tearing and difficulty breathing after one of the pillow packages opened.

Unfortunately, we have not come to a fair resolution with Inhabit Living's co-founder, Mike Tuttle. Inhabit Living holds me as the mother responsible for not being more careful about ordering their product and putting my family in jeopardy. (documentation can be provided)

Inhabit Living feels I should live up to their policy regardless of my sincere interest in their items.

If I had known about the down feather allergies, I would have saved myself the hassle of spending a good amount of money on their merchandise.

If I had known about Inhabit Living's level of customer service, I would have clicked on to another company.

And If I had double-checked with the Better Business Bureau, I would have discovered they have an UNSATISFACTORY rating.

My purpose here - Now you know and can make a more informed decision.
