"I have been a Insects Lore customer for over 10 years, so when the 3 cups of caterpillars arrived they were not looking normal, I was understandably disappointed. I called Insect Lore and told them that I would send them back. The representative said that due to the high temps in the middle of the country (they are shipped from Calif. and we are in NY) they were jeopardized. They would send another order when the temps were more appropriate and not to send the other order back.
I did not send them back and left them on a shelf for a few days when they began to "hatch" in the cup!!I quickly moved them to the pavillion where 10 of the 15 were perfect, 1 had deformed wings (twisted and small). I called to tell them and they are sending the other shipment anyway!!
I would ALWAYS tell people how GREAT INSECT LORE IS!!"

"My kids and I really enjoy buying the caterpillar larvae for our habitat so that they can watch and learn about the entire process. This time around when we received our package, unfortunately, the cup had been shipped on its side and two of the caterpillars had already begun the pupal stage on the side of the cup. There were also two that we think didn't make it on the bottom of the cup. I'm hoping that if we open the lid of the cup and place it on the bottom of the habitat the butterflies will still hatch and fly out. We won't know until the entire cycle is done, so fingers crossed that we have some live butterflies in the end even though the caterpillars did not form their crystalids on top on the paper. I would give five stars because in the past we have had no problems and the kids really enjoy it."
