"Took 9 months to get the $400 costume (TOS Captain rank). Was promised delivery in March, April and then every month up to October when I finally did receive it. First time I tried it on two seams ripped out. This seemed to start a pattern as EVERY time I tried it on, two more seams would rip out. After eight seams I took it to a tailor to have the seams replaced with a "serged" seam and better thread. Joseph's only comment on the seams ripping out, "That shouldnt happen." Really? You think? DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS GUY!"
"Ordered a V costume nearly a year ago...still haven't received it and now, not contact at all. very awful business practice....
May have to take some unkindly measures....."
"hello all,
curiously by reading all your stories I can relate to my experience.
In Spring 2015 I order this guy a V costume with hat and boots.
The deadline was far prior to Halloween just to make the dealine was not missed. 3 days before Halloween it told me I will received it. It arrived on Nov 3rd. Too bad... for me of course.
When I open the package there was a note: hat and boots are back ordered.
Weill you alread missed the first deadline now you can allow yourself anything.
September 2016... I'm still pulling the guy with update to get my hat and boots. No news. No reply.
This guy deserve a facebook page with all this bad reviews. "
"This guy is a huge gamble. I lost 300 on an order I never received. There are plenty of other people that will warn you of the same. Go to GBfans.com and ask someone on there about this guy.
This guy is a flat out liar.
He has conned 100's of people on there.
Do not waste your money!"
"I never ever had a problem with Joseph Kerezman. I have been doing business with him for several years. His costumes are excellent and affordable. He does respond to every email you send to him. I have read all the negative reviews about him on here. It seems to me that these people have no patience regarding getting their item. This is a family business for him. Things do happen and can be out of your control. Please show compassion and understanding towards someone especially when it's a family run business. "
"Wish I'd read some of these reviews before doing my dough (nearly $71 US) for goods that were promised but never arrived. I paid with Paypay but because I live in Australia I had to wait longer for the delivery and went past the 45 days allowed for disputes. Don't use Kerezman Costumes - this man is a thief. "
"I would like to report that my experience with this business has been very good. Mr Kerezman was very responsive in answering my emails with regards to my order and got the finished product to me pretty much on time. And it is of excellent quality and looks and fits great! Most definitely custom tailored! I will most likely do business with him again. I am looking forward to wearing ST TOS Spock costume at the 2013 Las Vegas ST Con. We also bought a costume for my lady which she will be wearing at the Con as well.
Thanks, Joseph! :-)
PS: If any of you would like to contact me WRT to my experience with this business, please feel free to do so at ****@****."
"I had wished I read this before ordering. I placed an order in Sept and was told I would get my order before the Haloween weekend and I never got my order. The merchant was unresponsive to my emails and lied about shipping the item. I asked for a tracking number many times but was never giving a tracking number for the order."
"Okay, I've heard a lot of bad stuff about this company, however my experience with them was not so. It took about a month to get the things I ordered, but everything came as was ordered and they did respond to e-mails and provided tracking of the delivery as well. The only complaint I have is that the Jacket pattern I ordered needed better instructions, but I hear that is the case with all the old patterns."
"I wanted to go as Lt. Uhura for Halloween this year and I wanted an authentic costume. I came across Kerezman's costume on e-bay and also looked at his website and was unfortunately duped. Four weeks passed and Halloween was the upcoming weekend, and no costume in sight. I received no responses to my e-mail inquiries. Halloween came and passed and I had no costume. Fortunately I paid for this item on PAYPAL (highly recommended you use this all the time!) and you are able to dispute ANY orders paid for through PayPal and they will look into the dispute for you, and refund your money if they are able to resolve the dispute in your favor. Well, the threat of the dispute through paypal is what prompted Kerezman into action. Low and behold, the DAY I LAUNCHED THE DISPUTE, my costume was mailed to me. Hmmmm...imagine that??? I spent $188 on this costume and my mother could have done a much better job on her sewing machine if she had the pattern. Apparently I should consider myself extremely lucky though. At least I got what I ordered. I've now seen countless complaints on Kerezman costumes all over the net. BUYER BEWARE!!!"
"I paid for the Civil War Infrantry boot. The store told me that they shipped but I not yet received. Also, they was lack of reply to my emil."
"I ordered a costume from Kerezman on July 18, 2007. The site claims to ship in 8 to 12 weeks. I wrote to him repeatedly to inquire about the status. First he said I'd have it by Halloween. Halloween passed. Then he'd said he'd do it as quickly as possible, and refund me 25%. No refund, no costume. He ignored my e-mails until I threatened legal action. He gave me an excuse, and said as a show of good faith he would refund $100 immediately and the rest within 8 to 10 days. No $100, no full refund, and it is now January 4, 2008.
UPDATE: After months of struggle, I finally received my full refund from Kerezman in January 2008. I still cannot recommend him, though."
"(potential) BUYER BEWARE! I wish I'd seen these reviews before my own debacle. I'd have saved myself $160 and a lot of indigestion.
On Aug 26, 2007, I ordered a $160 pair of "Star Trek TOS Boots." These were supposed to be authentic, hand-made, high-quality TOS replicas as shown in the pictures on his Web site (www.costumecostumecostume.com). Two months and 6 emails later, on October 29, 2007, I received a generic $40 pair of non-TOS boots that can be ordered from any online costume store. NOT WHAT I ORDERED.
When I confronted Mr. Kerezman about this, he suddenly came forth with a story about how "his boot maker is way behind" and that he therefore "sent these $40 boots so I'd have something for Halloween while we wait for the REAL boots to be delivered." He went on to say that he simply hadn't had time to enclose a letter explaining all this (despite the fact that we'd talked via email a half-dozen times prior to the order arriving).
I then sent Mr. Kerezeman a very civil/professional email telling him that this had all made me uncomfortable with the entire situation, and to cancel the transaction and refund my credit-card. I told him that I'd send his $40 boots back and that I'd even pay shipping. I've not heard back from him since.
Coincidentally, I had a number fraudulent credit charges show up a few days later, and had to shut my account down. I can't substantiate any kind of connection, but it's quite a coincidence that it happened shortly after my "breakup email" to Mr. Kerezman."
"I ordered one Sgt. Pepper uniform last summer. After repeated phone calls, emails, I still have nothing. This guy does not return phone calls or emails. The last email I have from his said that he would ship it by March 30, 2007. Nothing has arrived. Please do not do business with this store. I will also report this as credit card fraud. The costume was $400."
"I placed an order on 8/25/06 for two No-Ghost patches and two BSG card decks.
It's been three months, and I haven't received my purchase.
I tried contacting the company several times, both phone and email, but never get called back.
I'm in the process of disputing the charge with my credit card company.
Btw - he's taken his phone number off of his website. I have it as ***-***-****
