"I wish I didn't have to give them any stars. They misrepresent items, make you pay to return items when they are clearly at fault and are generally uncaring individuals. They used to sell on Ebay as briteonpower but they were so awful that the username was shut down. They sold me an adapter for a specific computer - it didn't fit the exact model they advertised the adapter for - then told me I HAD TO PAY TO SEND IT BACK. Then instead of a refund they sent me another wrong adapter. I Filed a claim and they never responded so I did get my refund and kept and sold the adapter and got my money back. Why would anyone buy from people like this?"

"I purchased a PIC-e card from JacobsParts and figured that if they put their name on the box, chances are they would at least stand by it, and it would be a step above a generic one. It turned out that they sent a generic one and it was terrible. The card was physically the wrong side and got stuck in a slot on my motherboard. It literally pulled the connector off the board when I went to remove it. I tried several other slots and realized it would not go in without force, so I bought a brand name card elsewhere. Although the card looked identical, the name brand one fit and worked perfectly.

The card in question had a "QA passed" sticker on it, and despite it not coming in a JacobsParts box as advertised, they did claim it was their merchandise. They didn't respond to my initial feedback but after further contact they did issue a refund.

"We placed an order for a pci sata raid card and they sent a pci wireless card. The invoice had the correct item. When I called them the worker was very polite but had to ask the manager. The manager said that they can refund the money or ship another one that would take several days to arrive. I had vendors committing mistakes like this one and they overnighted the replacement because they care about keeping clients. I look at this as a very poor service because of our deadline and because now I'll have to look around town for a card. This was all using Buy.com."

"I have no idea why the other folks have posted poorly on JacobsParts. I've been purchasing adapters for years and they've only gotten better. The quality is exceptional, and if I ever have a question or issue the staff are quick to help as well as being caring and friendly. JacobsParts is the best electronics accessories company I've ever dealt with."

"I puschased 64 ac adapters from jacobs Parts on various invoices. in less than a year I have had 21 defective adapters so far. I contacted the company and they said they only have a .04% defect rate. I think I have gotten all of the .04% and then some. I do not even send them back under warranty as it is just a waste of money. DO NOT BUY!!!!!"

"I purchased a laptop charger which quit working after a 10 months, they exchanged it for another one which shortly quit working. They acknowledged the problem that the charger was defective but said that since my 12 month warranty expired, they won't do anything. Thus, if you purchase an item that stops working 11 months into the warranty, they can send you a broken replacement on the 11,5 month, by the time you receive it your warranty is going to be expired. I know it doesn't make sense. But what it comes down to is that they can't say that their items work for at least 12 months."

"My main issue with them is wrong info in the product description and NO RESPONSE to it. Yes, they have good prices and fast shipping, but the service remains to be seen.

Examples:

1. Mouse dimensions listed would make you think it's a full desktop size - it's the measurements for the BOX it comes in rather than the mouse itself, which is a laptop size mouse and the description doesn't say anything about that. The plastic is also very cheap.

They also ignored my email about this.

2. Drive enclosure does not have a locking latch or even a tab/indentation that snaps shut, it is held together by tension alone like a cookie tin. As a result an Altoids box is more secure.

Of course you get what you pay for, and the cost reflects the quality. But the lack of response to the mouse issue leads me to believe their service is limited to the fast shipment of your order.

"I wanted to like this company, I really did - but I simply cannot support a business that sells faulty products. I purchased a BriteOn AC adapter for my ASUS W3j from Jacobsparts, largely because they sold the cheapest product I could find. The first adapter seemed great, for a couple of months - then the adapter stopped working. Aside from the computer not drawing power and the LED light not turning on, their was absolutely no warning or clues as to why - no smell, no sparking, no melting - the adapter simply stopped working. Assuming this was a fluke I initiated an RMA through the companies web-site. I boxed up the faulty adapter and shipped it off. A week later I receive a replacement in the mail; the turnaround speed impressed me and gave me courage that my experience was just a fluke. The replacement adapter seemed to work great...for a few weeks, and then the same thing happened. No smoking, no melting - the adapter just stopped working one day without any warning. So, I filed an RMA report, packed up the adapter, paid for shipping and sent it off. A week later another replacement arrives. This one worked for a week, and then the same problem occured. Packed it up, shipped it off. I now sit here with my FOURTH adapter, having paid $20+ in shipping fees for replacements, and my adapter is not working. It's a new problem this time, blinking LEDS and my computer not drawing power - but the problem is definitely with the adapter.

I don't know what to think. It's impressive that a company would replace my broken parts so fast, but if they only sell faulty products to begin with, this isn't enough. Maybe it's the manufacturer and not the seller, I don't know - all I know is that I will never purchase a product from this company again. I am a Graduate Student in college, and because of this company's merchandise I have had to go without a personal computer for almost a month. This has impacted my wallet, my sanity and my grades. If you know about this problem Jacobsparts, shame on you; if you don't, do yourself a favor and look in to it before your whole company goes down in flames.
