"I ordered a rechargeable mini speaker for my niece in time for Christmas. The box did arrive in time but was empty inside, just the brown packaging paper. The box showed no signs of tampering. I called the store the next day and explained I received an empty box and now the item probably would not arrive in time for Christmas. The representative gave me an empty promise that he will try to rush another one out as soon as possible before rushing me off the phone. I followed up the call with an email. Three days later I received a reply to my email stating that they have filed a claim with UPS. Filed a claim with UPS??? The box was not tampered with and was not UPS' fault. Instead of owning up to the fact that their packing department screwed up and just sending out another item immediately, they are waiting for UPS to process the claim, EVEN THOUGH IT IS NOT UPS' FAULT. How is this trying to rush another item out as soon as possible? I thought J&R's reputation has improved, but it's just another New York Jewish owned money machine. Too bad, I was hoping to purchase a $2,000 TV from them. Instead I'm looking at BH Photo, which btw was rated tops for online shopping by Consumer Reports."
