"Found parts I needed at Machens Toyota's website. Called to see if they kept the items in stock. Phone price quote was higher than online, so I ordered online for pickup. Why would they charge more over the phone? This dealer's "parts counter" has no counter of its own. The customer is expected to approach the vehicle rental counter and state their business is with parts, then the lukewarm-at-best rental employees has to begrudgingly go get a parts person. On this visit, I said I had parts to pick up and gave my name. The lukewarm rental person went and got my parts, so I didn't see a parts person at all, which means I could not have a conversation with a parts professional and ask them to check my part lookup and make sure the application was correct. Oh well, I am pretty confident in my lookup, but it would have been nice to have received some personal service. The (online) price was fair, there was no wait, so at least no complaints there. As a sidebar, the couple of times I dealt with Letitia, she was great. I wish she had her own actual parts counter and I can just look for her directly."

"one of the rubber roof drip rails came up missing on my Tacoma. my first stop to replace it was the local Toyota dealership to get pricing and then shop for the best deal. The parts person I spoke with gave me detailed info on the replacement, including the retail price (to which my response was something like holy crap). After several other errands and a stop at a salvage business (which yielded zero), I stopped back at the dealership and agreed to purchase, rater than go all over and get less than the original and waste my time. "

"I have ordered lots of parts for maintenance. Spoke on the phone when I ordered parts and was told I can return them. Go to return a couple parts I didn’t end up using and charge me a “restock” fee. Even though dealers always return things, another way to **** their returning customers dry. I’ll go back to ordering elsewhere. No real incentive to drive to the dealer when I can get it shipped from somewhere and sent to my house. I’m sure they will reply with an excuse. "
