"Bottom line: a hassle-filled experience ending up with me paying more and getting less than promised. Would avoid these guys like the plague!

I placed an order with KB Camera on their Yahoo affiliated site the morning of January 16th. Everything looked fine. On line confirmation indicated free shipping per the promo fed-ex 2-3 day. But the vendor later sent me an email saying that they would not honor this arrangement unless I pay $12 for shipping. I had to call them (Nic) if I was still interested. I pointed out that I was buying on price and that they were now more expensive than Newegg (who also offered expedited FedEx at reduced cost, and with whom I had good experiences). He lowered the shipping to $10 and I foolishly agreed thinking he was acting on good faith. He agreed to email me a tracking number as soon as he had one. The next day no tracking number or explanation so I called again - Nic wasn't in but would call me back. Late in the afternoon he hadn’t called me so I called again. He would send the item out that evening and send me a tracking number. Next day I got a terse email with a tracking number - USPS, not FedEx as agreed. I ended up paying more for less service, not knowing if I'll receive the item by the week-end (It is intended as a gift to be given then), plus all the hassles of phone calls and emails. They don't have an 800 number and don't call back when they say they will - so just another customer expense.
BTW Amazon uses them as a "marketplace" vendor. Would avoid them there as well!
