"In NOVEMBER 2019, I bought gold and silver plates for a New Year's party and to celebrate my niece's engagement. The product did not arrive, I called the company and nobody knew how to give me information, we requested the cancellation. I bought new dishes for the party. So to my surprise 5 months later the dishes arrive, and now they don't want to accept the cancellation without me paying the 20% fee. This is abuse, do not buy, or you will have the same problems. "In the past few weeks I've purchased 3 items in 3 separate orders from KaTom. In each case their price was the best I could find online, I got an immediate confirmation soon followed by an accurate invoice and a timely shipment. Each shipment was exactly what I ordered and was carefully and securely packaged, which is more than I can say for many shipments I've received from that huge online retailer whose name begins with "A".
KaTom is tops in my book.

I guess it's past time I update this review. After 3 good experiences initially (above review), I had a nightmare with a San Jamar kitchen scale purchased at KaTom Supply on February 20, 2019.
First it took nearly 2 weeks to arrive (March 5, 2019). When it did, it didn't match the picture or specs for the one ordered. For example, the scale I ordered was powered by a 9V battery, the one I got by 4 C cells. And, oddly, there was no serial number on the unit.
What's far worse, the scale was completely inaccurate. When I took a test item and placed it at 4 different locations on the scale, I got 4 different readings and the differences were sizable.
At that point I started asking for an RMA to get my money back. Well, that involved many emails and reminders from me to KaTom. I FINALLY got my refund on April 29, 2019, over 2 months later.
Based on that miserable experience I've lowered my rating from 5 to 2 stars. I suppose San Jamar deserves some of the blame, but this review is for KaTom who didn't seem very helpful in getting the situation resolved."
"I work for a service company and have purchased new unit after new unit from Katom. Over and over again they have come in damaged and after refusing shipping, i call Katom to get it handled and EVERY TIME they give me the run around! Not ONCE have they helped me. They tell me to contact the shipper, the shipper tells me to contact Katom, katom tells me to contact the manufacturer and so on! It is absolutely ridiculous that I as the customer have to solve Katom's issues for them! They obviously buy these old unit's that manufactures have had sitting in the back of their factory for years that they can't sell or units that have been damaged and then wrapped right back up to be sold as new. "I purchased 4 Epicurean chopping boards from them and was notified that my order would be received by May 8th. A package arrived on May 7th but with only 1 chopping board. When I inquired about the rest of the order I was told that those boards were on back order and they estimated that they would take another month for me to receive them!! Put me in a bad situation as the boards were purchased as a birthday present for someone on May 10th and I will not have enough time to order them from another supplier at this point. Online sales companies always inform you of a backorder situation at the time of placing the order or shortly thereafter when they prepare your order for shipment. It should not be a surprise when you receive a partial shipment of your order!!

"Ordered a aluminum pan 11" x 17". Received an aluminum pan 12" x 18". Close but doesn't fit the device that I have which will only take an 11" wide pan. Contacted Katom and was told they would ship a replacement pan. I've spent almost two months trading emails about when I will receive a refund since they don't have a clue what's in their warehouse. All I receive is apologies and excuses but no refund.
I always go to this site to inquire about companies but when I put in katom.com nothing gets returned. If I put in Katom Supply I find all the people taken advantage of by Katom. "
"I ordered new glasses for Thanksgiving this year. Before ordering, I spoke at length with a sales associate and specifically asked how they package glasses, since shipping companies are notoriously harsh on handling shipments. He assured me that not only are they packaged really well, but if anything goes wrong they will make it right.
Well, exactly what I feared would happen, happened. The glasses weren't packaged well, and they arrived broken into a million pieces, and upon opening the box, glass started spilling all over my floor (not too good with kids and dogs around). We immediately took photos, called the company, and that's where all the problems with this company began.
I spoke with Destanie, the supervisor of the entire "customer service" department and beyond being incredibly rude to us, told us that we would have to wait for UPS to come and inspect the packages before they would ship replacements. I explained that there was no way I was keeping a box full of broken glass in my home with kids and dogs around and she finally told me to take extensive photos (which I already had) and e-mail them to her. At that point, she instructed us to to dispose of the glasses. She still refused to ship any replacements, stating that she had to "abide by company policy", but would get on filing a claim with the shipper first thing in the morning and once that had been filed, she would issue our refund so we could go elsewhere.
I tried following up with Destanie via phone but she would never answer, and no one at the company could ever find her. I did send her a few e-mails and she finally responded when I threatened to file a chargeback with my credit card company. Unfortunately, her response was a warning to me about how my credit card would be closed if I filed a chargeback (completely untrue). After reading that, I called my card company, filed a dispute, and of course I am still waiting for that to be resolved.
It is now Dec 4th, and I just received an e-mail from someone named Amanda, who told us that UPS had tried "multiple times" to schedule an inspection with us but we did not respond. Let's be very clear. At no time did UPS ever try to schedule an inspection with us, and anytime there was any communication, we responded immediately. UPS did show up out of the blue one day with a call tag to pickup the shipment, but we explained that we were instructed to dispose of the broken glass and had submitted photos to the seller. They said no problem and left. That was our only communication with UPS.
To date, no refund, and only an e-mail stating that "our claim had been closed" due to our lack of response. I am out $172 and have nothing but wasted time and a bunch of broken glass I had to clean up to show for it.
On another note, we just looked up reviews on this company and it turns out we're not the only ones this has happened to. I can't understand how this company is still in business, or who is purchasing from them. RUN FAR AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE CROOKS AND LIARS."
"KaTom provided the very WORST customer service I've ever experienced. An oven I ordered shipped without the legs (it happens - simple fix - no problem) so I called to get the issue fixed. It had been over a month and countless calls, sometimes hour-long holds, for them to attempt to fix the problem. Finally I decided to ask to speak to a supervisor. Those agents would do or say ANYTHING to try to prevent a customer from speaking to a supervisor. When I finally did, the answer was predictably unsatisfactory..."we'll make some notes and do some coaching." No amount of coaching will help these agents. They need to be replaced with people who care. What a horrible company. Never again.....and still no oven legs."

I placed my order in early May for an oven which had a MINOR configuration to it, so it was classified under "special order" (which I am fine with). Basically, they claimed that I can place the order with them and they send the order in to the manufacturer. Okay, so when I placed my order the sales rep asked me if I was OK with a 17 day lead time. At the time, in May, I was completely fine with that. What can be so bad with a three week lead time? Or at least so I thought. It's been over a month now and I have not received any information regarding my order.
So I called Katom last week inquiring about my order, and they informed me how my order is on it's way... "it should be there by the end of the week", he said. Well, guess what - I still have not received my order! Here we go again. I called Katom again and asked about my order they said it's in their warehouse and it's due to ship within a day or two, but, she added "I will get you the tracking info by the end of the day". The end of the day came. And went. NO tracking info.
So I called again, now they say that my order has not even been placed!!! How crazy/insane can you be, Katom??? It's over a month since I placed my order - what's going on here??? Why can't you get your act together? Why is heaven's name does it take over a month to submit the order to a manufacturer? Not to mention all of the lies I was told over the phone that my order is in the warehouse... arriving soon... (forgot to mention- They did offer to "compensate" me to waive the $45 lift-gate fee... What a joke!!!) Only thing I can say is that I will NEVER EVER BE GOING BACK HERE!!!

Stay away from these crooks unless you wants major headaches dealing with these incompetent people. Their customer service was as bad as the others. I waited to get my refund before posting this review which took about 4 months with the helped of PayPal otherwise I will NOT get any credit for the items they charged me and NOT able to fulfill. So in another words they charged me the full amount upfront which they denied doing so and did not send me the merchandise because it was unavailable.
It was late November 2017 when I placed the order for several large platters for my holiday entertaining that cost almost $1,500 with shipping charged of $300, luckily I used PayPal for these orders. With the expedited shipping of $300 I was told I will get the items in times for the holidays. My credit card was charged, never heard a thing from them. 1.5 weeks before Christmas I called them and spoke to their lousy incompetent customer service. She told me I was not charged unless the items was shipped which was totally false. Later she told me that the items were back order and won't be available until April 2018 and if I wanted to wait? Only an idiot will agree to that, money taken by them, no platters which were desperately needed for several of my Christmas parties and who knows come April what they will say. Later she then also told me that she have 1 item that can be shipped out right away and in time for my party which btw did not and when it did finally arrived the item was defective. Now, returning this defective item was a story in itself. It is like pulling teeth!!! They sneakily did not offer a prepaid shipping label even though the faults were theirs and this item was defective unless you insisted for the label. Don't forget I paid $300 for the shipping charges. I did not trust this company after these nor do I want to do any business with them. I immediately called the online department store which I should had done and paid for the platters I wanted all over again. Though the order was placed late which was 1 week before but I received all of the items just in time, a day before my party. It took 5 days for several very large boxes to arrived without having to pay for expedited shipping and ordering was a breeze with no aggravations and frustrations. What infuriated me was that these people DID NOT even bother to gave me a courtesy of a phone call after I paid the amount of $300 they had charged for expedited shipping to let me know that the merchandise was not available to shipped. They did not tell me they have 1 item (though defective) nor about the back order! Without my phone called to them I will still be waiting. They just got your money in 1 second, all of it in full amount, whether they have the merchandise or not to shipped out and it took at least 1 month of continuous haggling and frustrating phone calls to return the defective item as though talking to a brick walls with different people each times and 4 months to get the credit back to my account through PayPal resolution center. Without PayPal or Amex that offered buyer protection when purchased through them honestly at the rate it was going back and forth, pulling hair and teeth I am not so sure I will get my money back unless I get an attorney or small claim court involvements.
From my first phone called basically the headaches begun having to proves to them that they unethically took my money in full amount and no other merchandise was delivered, it was like talking to a brick walls without any helps whatsoever. I had to spend so much times sending them emails after emails sending them receipts of the charges from PayPal, my bank statements and etc, etc BUT without any cooperation from them. There were many, many more horrible details which will be taking too long for me to list everything. Finally, I called PayPal to help me and send PayPal all the info about the purchased and proofs of payments and I can tell you that the amount of times and efforts put into all these are not worth your times buying from these people. Go else where they are not the only game in town!
This company is NOT honorable, unethical and definitely lacks of professionalism. Check Yelp and others and see that they have mostly 1 star negative reviews. I will never want to do business with them ever again and definitely WILL NOT under any circumstances will recommend them to anyone on this planet and I intend to post my review on every social media network that they had advertised their company with."
