Terrible customer service

"Note that this parent company (Two Point Enterprises) operates several retail websites: hand-tools.com, gerber-tools.com, kershaw-knives.net, and sog-knives.net.

I placed an order with this company and received no email confirmation or email of any kind. A week or so later, having received no notice of my order or of shipping, I emailed to request a cancellation. I was informed by a representative (who curtly insisted that they HAD sent me an order confirmation) that it was too late to cancel the order as "it has already shipped." Days later I received an email stating that the shipping label had just been created and the order was about to be shipped out – the rep had simply lied about the shipment.

I contacted them again and voiced my dissatisfaction, as they could have canceled my order as it had not even shipped (as the representative had falsely claimed). The same rep then rudely and dismissively gave me a vague spiel about how they can't cancel orders due to their shipping policies. She even flatly stated that it takes up to 11 days(!) to ship out orders. On what planet is this acceptable?

It's clear that this company is a drop-shipping operation – they do not keep much of their inventory on hand and ship it from elsewhere. This results in long shipping times, miscommunication, and poor service in general, as was displayed here. The rude customer "service" rep also informed me that if I wished to make a return, they have a 20% restocking fee. Not only is this wildly excessive, but I can tell you (having run an online business for years myself) that "restocking fees" are nonsense. It costs nothing to accept returns – it's a tactic to pressure customers into NOT making returns. "Restocking fees" are a practice you most often see with shady ebay sellers.

TL;DR: Four strikes: 1) It took almost two weeks for my initial order to even ship out (with no confirmation email). 2) Despite this, they curtly refused to cancel my order days before it shipped. 3) RUDE and dismissive customer service. 4) Extortive 20% "restocking fee." Take your money to a professional business who actually cares, there are plenty out there. This amateur hour company's service is abysmal on every level, all the way down. Avoid.

Excellent service and warranty.

"I returned 4 knives for sharpening. Several of these were heavily worn if not borderline abused. They replaced 2 of them with new knives and the 1 that got sharpened looked new to me. 1 was not available any longer and they have a $40 voucher towards any knife in their catalog. The turnaround was about 5 weeks (they say 4-6 weeks). I will not purchase anything but Kershaw going forward. Very pleased."

"I just ordered a Kershaw Scallion and had it engraved to give to a friend as a gift. The engraving was misaligned and it looks bad enough that I don't think I will give it to him. Kershaw-knives.net's policy is Items that have been engraved upon are not eligible for refund. No exceptions, not even if you're not happy with how the laser engraving turned out. But why offer the service if it is done poorly? So I recommend to not use their engraving service because they take no responsibility on the quality of the job. Did not receive any responses to my emails. "

"It was so disappointing today to find out that Kershaw-knives.net was unable to address my issue. When my old address was accidentally used to place an order, I immediately (within 10 minutes) called the company. The woman on the other end of the phone took down my new address, and said it would be no issue to change the address to where I now live. She committed that it was taken care of and not to worry.

I did not find out until my ex-wife received the package that she had not done her job, and they had sent two knives to my ex. Let's just say it caused problems. Instead of an apology, or any fixes being offered, I was given the run-around, and eventually told there was nothing done wrong on their end.

Kershaw-knives.net has been my go-to in the past for buying knives, and I have always appreciated their quality products and service. But having one thing said and another done, followed by a lack of empathy or problem-solving has lost me as a client.

"I had a great experience buying a Kershaw knife from this company. They communicated very well via email and kept me updated on status. Placed the order on Wednesday and the knife arrived on Friday!! I will definitely buy from this company again!!! Very good selection and prices. Worth a look anytime I'm in the market for a knife."

"I made an order of 2 knives that seemed as if they were in stock. My credit card was charged instantly. I received a note a week later that both knives were backordered, however my credit card was still charged. I sent a note back asking if they were ever going to get any more in and why I was charged for a knife they did not have in stock.
The only reply I got was a generic message that I had been refunded. No information on if they would get any more in or not.

I then get an email from then saying to come here and post a review and I will get $3 back. They are paying their customers to leave good feedback. That's just sad.

"I have been a knife collector for about 47 years now and have always carried quality knives even as a child. My dad was a carpenter in his early career and then went into law enforcement. I tell you that, only to tell you this; any tradesman cannot survive as well without having tools that can stand up to the job at hand. He always carried quality tools of the trade and provided the same for me until I was of age to buy my own. Kershaw knives have become one of my go to tools for several years now, and for good reason. Kershaw knives are of great quality and maintain their structural integrity during the toughest of jobs.
