"I ordered a laptop battery nearly a month ago. My credit card was charged the next day. For over three weeks now I have been getting email informing me that my battery had shipped and would arrive "end of the week". Last of these informations came over a week ago. I have not received my merchandise, I have no confirmation or tracking number and I have no reasons to believe that my order was really shipped this time.
I have not received any response to my e-mails since then either. Key Battery has been ignored my requests to provide me with a proof of shipment or to cancel my order and return my money.

"In reading these reviews, I become even more convinced that Key Battery (aka, Tech Point LLC) is the equivalent of a tech "chop shop." My experience is virtually INDENTICAL to the review posted on May 11, 2007, by another "very dissatisfied" customer. To be fair, I am not "very dissatisfied"; I am EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED. I tend to get that way when somebody rips me off, and Key Battery ripped me off.
In a nutshell, I ordered a battery from them back in February, and it never took a charge properly. In fact, my original (Compaq/HP) battery - which was nearly 2.5 years old - performed better than the "new/replacement" that I got from Key Battery. I tried to "live with it", but within just a couple of months, the battery was DEAD. Not "short-lived." DEAD.
I, like the customer from May 11th, also went through the maze-like process (all email: don't waste your time phoning, as they NEVER return calls) of trying to get the batter replaced, per the guarantee. Ultimately, I was told (via email) to ship it back to them (at my expense!) and they would ship a new one simultaneously. In a word "Bullshyte." What I WAS sent (not simultaneously, but rather AFTER they received the one I returned) was either the very same battery (how I wish I had written down the serial number) or another, equally crapped-out "Key Battery special." It will NOT charge!
I had an I.T. buddy go over this mess with me, and the "final analysis" is that I got ripped off. I will not get the money back (of that I am certain), but I WILL do everything possible to "Get the word out." This is but one of those steps, and the next will be a complaint filing with the Better Business Bureau. I'll also try the California Department of Consumer Affairs. Though I live in Florida (as of three years ago), I lived for 28 years in LA, and at least that state DOES try to pursue consumer concerns. We'll see, but at least this may spare YOU the aggravation that I have experienced.
Finally, please note that the "glowing reviews" about Key Battery are all one or two lines. Mine - like the others who have been burned - is considerably longer and more detailed. Who do you really think is "telling the truth?""
"I purchased a Dell computer battery. I've tried to contact thru email 3 times - no answer. Battery does not work - creates other problems with the computer when booting. Will not boot completely. I need to return the battery but they don't respond. It's not possible to talk directly with them -no direct phone line. They make it clear that email is the only way to get a return OK'd. I'll ammend this rating if/when they respond positively. Wish I'd looked at their rating before ordering."

- battery didn't charge, I sent it back;
- they sent replacement battery; the battery did not charge either; many emails and complaints later they won't do anything because they already replaced once the battery (the defective product with a new defective battery); today I finally reached a sales representative and he hang up on me.

"I ordered a battery on March 20, 2007 and was given excuse after excuse why it wasn't sent out. On April 18, 2007 it was supposedly shipped. To date I haven't received it. No matter how many phone calls and messages I made or e-mail messages I sent requesting a return phone call, I never once got a phone call from the company. This same company also promised to refund my shipping cost in return for filling out this feedback form for a previous order. I did so and I am still waiting for the shipping to be refunded. Nobody in this company cares about customer satisfaction and to say that I will never shop here again pretty much goes without saying. In all fairness my first order was flawless. I don't know what is going on with them now, but they need to rethink the way they take care of their customers.
