"I ordered a clock movement. It arrived in a reasonable time frame, but it only runs for a few minutes before dying. The shipping cost as much as the part, so I won't throw more money away trying to return it."
"After ordering our clock hands I contacted Klockit via email within 1/2 an hour to ask if I could add to my order. I received an email the next day saying my order had been processed and could not be altered. My order in fact was mot shipped for more than 5 day after it was placed and not only that I was charged $6 more than quoted as Klockit advised they would reduce my bill by $6 if I chose a different method of shipping. I got a slower method of shipping but paid more than full price anyway! Despite several emails and a phone call this was never resolved. Klockit is by far the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. I think one of the most unappealing things about this company is their unbelievable shipping and handling. I live in Canada and paid over $41 to ship feather weight clock hands and 2 very small light weight movements. My merchandise cost was $10.90. All in all I would avoid this company!
"
"I will never again order from this company online. The part did not fit, it cost almost the price of the part to ship so it wasn't even worth it to return. Not a good way to get what you need. "
"Gah, I *HATE* businesses who lie to you. I don't care if it's out of ignorance, laziness or low morals.
I have a 1950's vintage clock I'm trying to update from using a 16vdc hard-wired connection to battery. Took all Sorts of measurements of the hands, post, face, etc... and fired off an email asking if they had anything that would would work for me. I received a quick reply pointing me towards 2 different products and opted for the more expensive one. A week in transit and when it arrives I test the fit for the hands. Completely off, there's no way they'll fit without damaging or permanently altering something. Then I try to fit to my clock Face, same story, no way it'll fit without altering something beyond repair. WTFBBQ!!!
So, yeah... a company is only as good as the people who run it. While this is only a $10 total order (thankfully), it's clear that it's a business to be avoided. You just don't reply (Sure, either of these will work for you) when they absolutely won't. I'm not talking a Little bit off here, but measurements from 25~50% off. Not even worth returning as shipping back would be more than the dang thing is worth.
*sigh* If you Know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that what you're ordering will fit ~ maybe it's worth shopping here. I imagine that you could get the same stuff from another online retailer for less money (I saw plenty), cheaper shipping and faster shipping. "
"I ordered some bartley gel varnish from klockit. The package took a little longer than expected to arrive. When it arrived, the can said "clear satin stain." On Bartley's site they clearly show that they make a gel "clear satin stain" and a "gel varnish." I emailed klockit, saying I think I got the wrong thing. They wrote back, saying "we don't carry gel stain. You got the right thing."
Then, a few days later I got another email saying, "we got the wrong shipment in, so you did not receive the right item. The right stuff is on the way and you should have it in a few days. You may keep the clear satin stain."
Mind you, all this time I am waiting to finish a redwood burl coffee table. Redwood burl is not cheap! So 8 days go by. I decide, hey, I've got this clear satin stain, I'll give it a try on my redwood burl table to build up a finish and then use the varnish when that comes. Redwood burl is soft so a good, protective finish is important.
No package ever came. So I email them, again, and get a response saying, "you did get the right thing. We don't sell anything other than that. The clear satin stain is the same as the varnish." So of course at this point I am angry? Why? Because apparently I have been using varnish all along, even though the can does not say that. They say the can is labeled wrong. The problem is I can't put anything over the varnish, of which there are 3 layers on my table at this point. So it's either have a less protected and thinner finish, or strip the entire thing and start over. So I email klockit telling them what has gone on. Their response?
"You ordered a gel varnish and that is what you received. It has no stain in it. It is just a clear satin varnish to protect the wood. You thought you got the wrong item, and you were told you got the wrong item, but you had the correct item the whole time. Again, we are sorry about the confusion." Horrible customer service and even worse knowledge of what they are selling. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!
"
"I have ordered from this company a few times, but I probably will not do so in the future. Their processing times are adequate, at best, but not fast by any stretch of the imagination. The company seems to have a culture of complacency, as if they are not concerned about losing any customers. This was confirmed by a very unpleasant customer service experience with an associate named Mandy. I had to call customer service with questions regarding a product I had ordered. After speaking with Mandy for a few minutes, I began to get the feeling she was "annoyed" with me. It was almost as if she expected me to know the answer the questions I was asking. She seemed dismissive, as if she wanted to quickly finish the call so she could attend to "more important matters." She also seemed defensive, as if my questions were allegations that something was wrong with the product that her company sold. All in all, the call was uncomfortable, and when it was over, I had a feeling that I had been "handled," and I still wasn't quite sure I was any more enlightened than I was before I called.
I decided to call back, almost assuming that another associate would answer my call. Perhaps the next rep would be more patient, less unpleasant. Once again it was Mandy who picked up the call. I explained that I didn't quite understand the previous answers, and with that any possibility that her annoyance with me was my imagination went right out the window. After a few moments of the same kind of treatment, I myself became annoyed and confessed right out that I was hoping that my second call would be handled by another associate. She argued that she had been very helpful and accused me of simply "not liking" the answers I was given. She was appalled that I had the nerve to criticize her customer service skills.
When I encounter customer service with this degree of unprofessionalism, I begin to assume that this is part of the company culture, and that I can have no confidence in the integrity of the company. This is especially true when the associate behaving unprofessionally claims a position of leadership within the company. Mandy claimed that she was the "lead technician" and that she had "never had a complaint" about her customer service.
I have written to the director of Human Resources, hoping that this matter will be addressed. If it is, and I get an apology from Mandy, I will consider revising my review. However, until then, I will have to give them the lowest possible review."
"Our order from Klockit was a mixed bag.
On one hand we got the product we ordered, just as we ordered it, in good shape 6 days after we ordered it.
On the other hand, the confirmation email we received gave no order number. Logging into our account at Klockit only allowed us to alter our shipping and billing addresses as well as our password but no ability to see our order status, order history, or tracking status. We never did get any tracking status.
Hence the 3 check mark rating. If they improve their order confirmation and tracking processes I'll give them a full 5 checks next time."
"Excellent online merchandiser. I received my order completely and quickly. They have a wide selection of parts at reasonable prices. "
"Web site makes it very easy to order a wide variety of clock movements, hands, parts, etc. at great prices. Good customer service on the phone. Order was shipped U.S. mail (my choice) which isn't the fastest, but arrived complete and correct."
