"I purchased a SOG Mini Vulcan from Knife Outlet based on the description contained on Knife Outlet's web page which stated that he knife had SOG' SAT,(Sog Assisted Tech)an assisted opening feature. I own other SOG knives and am very familar with the feature. The Mini Vulcan DOES NOT CONTAINE this feature. At first I assumed the knife was defective and returned it requesting a replacement. The replacement knife came and the same result, no assisted feature. I went to the SOG website and the knife was not detailed as having this feature. I contacted "Fred" the owner of Knife Outlet who insisted that the knife did have the SAT opening, even when I attempted to explain to him that I had other knives with the feature and that SOG did not list this model as haveing the feature he was very rude, stating "the one you sent back was fine and if you don't like the knife, send it back". What an ass! Not only does the guy have no customer skills he has no knowledge of the product he is selling. Done dealing with ASSHOLE FRED! "
"No problems here! I have made several purchases from Knifeoutlet.com with great success! Best prices around. Shipping has always been well packaged and very reasonable. There's no order tracking but I suspect that helps keep prices low and makes my knife arrival that much more an enjoyable surprise. They will most definitely get more business from me. As for the people who said they were treated rudely, I can say I had no problems the one time I phoned, and most recently, ( today actually) my email was given reply within a few hours. Even more amazingly, they actually changed the website to fix the problem I experienced! Seriously? How often does that ever happen? Never? (they had made a Mobile version through a third party that made site navigation clunky and near impossible to use. The kind that keeps pushing you into mobile.)
I make this review because I'm thoroughly pleased with Knife Outlet and I know negative reviews are much easier to get than positive ones. "
"Buyers beware! I ordered the Legionnaire Bowie knife and never received an email confirmation so I called to find out the status. The woman (Ruth) on the phone said that it was backordered and that I should have gotten an email indicating so. This was back around December 9, 2012. I originally wanted to give this knife as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. Christmas passed so I went ahead and told my boyfriend that I had ordered the knife but it was on backorder. He wanted to find out the expected shipment date so he gave Knife Outlet a call and got “FRED” who is extremely rude with no sense of customer service skills. All my boyfriend did was ask about the expected shipment date for the knife and “FRED” said that he was cancelling the order. When I found out that the order was cancelled I called right over, asking for an email confirmation stating that my order was cancelled. “FRED” said that he can’t and will not send me any type of email and hung up on me. So I called again and got Ruth, who I guess to be “FRED’S” wife. She even told me that the system doesn’t send out cancellation emails. Horse crap, how hard is it to send out an email stating that your order # has been cancelled. Anyways, while I was on the phone with Ruth I could hear “FRED” in the background cussing and yelling at her saying “get off the phone, I am done dealing with these people”. It really sounds like this guy “FRED” is an abusive individual, he should be on meds! I wish I had researched the company prior to attempting this purchase. It would have saved me the irritation of dealing with “FRED”. No wonder they don’t have a PayPal payment option. I don’t think PayPal would want a business like this one representing them."

"This a company I would definitely never use again. I called the company about odering cold steel black sable knifes. Fred the owner took my info down.Later on that day he calls me and tells me he dosen't have the knifes but I can look on e-bay they have plenty of them. So I ordered from e-bay. Guess what 6days later I received knifes from e-bay and knife center. When I called knife center to retify the situition Fred, the owner was rude and has no sense of customer service. As of 3/12/10 has not rectified my visa bill. My lawyer is involved as well as the visa company."
"This seller has the worse business practices I've ever seen. Because the shipping to page requested an email address, the seller sent a bill to the recipient of the item rather than me - the purchaser. When informed of this error and that the item was a gift, the seller responded with a statement saying that it was my fault that I entered the recipient's email on the ship to page instead of my own. Additionally, he informed the that he would be recalling the item causing even more trouble. He then stated that he would refund me only after he received the item. However, if he recalls the item, he should refund me immediately, but he is refusing to do so. I would NEVER do business with this seller. Regardless of price, this seller is NOT worth the trouble. He doesn't comprend the concept of human decency. He treats his customers as though he doesn't need them. Any business that treats their customers in that fashion should not be in business. Use this seller at your own risk, but be advised that if there is any problem with your order, the seller will believe that it is an error on your part, not his."
"I bought a Smith and Wesson THBB Bowie knife from the knife outlet. It failed with half hour of splitting cedar by the blade denting and hackle coming loose. I have a signed affidavit of 7 people I never abused knife. I returned it paying additional shipping and a new knife was sent. The same thing happened with second knife. The owner did not respond to an email and now finally trying to resolve I was badgered with the worst most viscous attack and customer service I ever witnessed. The owner is refusing to give my money back or even send my known defective knife back unless I send him additional shipping money. The knife is known by other reputable companies to be cheap China materials. It was falsely advertised as a work knife. I have my small 8 inch buck for 20 years and could have done the same job with it without failure. The owner doesn't seem to grasp the concept of customer service and instead engages in antagonistic abuse which leaves me with filing a complaint with the Better business bureau and Attorney general. I would never do business with this company again."
"Knife outlet seems to be a touch disorganized. I ordered three knifes, and had two complications-- First, the invoice billed me for a different knife than ordered. The website and confirmation email correctly mention the spyderco endura 4, but the invoice which came with the order bills me for the endura 2, an older model with a different blade steel. However, I think the correct knife was delivered because the blade is vg10, not aus-6. Another knife from the same order, the Fallkniven Blue Whale chef's knife, is the correct make/model but the graphic on their website was not accurate...it did not come with teflon coating as pictured. One final (and minor) point, shipping and handling could be faster; I placed the order on Monday, March 12th, was emailed a confirmation the next day, and it shipped that Friday...package arrived March 22nd. 10 days may not seem like a long time to some people, but I was a little disappointed."

"Ordered on morning of Aug. 29, del. method was to be 2nd day, didn't get confirmation e-mail until next day. Four days after I placed the order, it finally shipped... UPS ground. UPS sent me the shipping notice, still haven't heard from knife outlet. Tracked order on this day and UPS didn't even recieve the package yet. Now 9 days after placing order UPS lists my address as invalid. Apparently knife outlet entered it wrong and the package delivery had to be rescheduled. Now 10 days after placing an order for 2nd day delivery and I'm still waiting."
"Purchase a Kershaw Mini Mojo from then, it was shipped out promptly.
Correct product was shipped, but product packaging showed signs of damage from possible repackaging, or just general mishandling.
The knife itself had what appeared to be salt on the inside of the pocket knife. Ended up having to clean it all out. And there is this slight grinding sound that sounds like some of that salt may have gotten into the joint part of the blade, whenever it is opened."
"I purchased a tri hone knife sharpener from Knife Outlet, online. The sharpener was delivered with the sharpening stones detached and chipped. Also the interior packaging was torn and re-taped. The packaging showed signs of a possible return. Knife Outlet blames the shipping company when clearly the exterior packaging arrived in excellant shape and the interior packaging was the packaging that was tampered with. Knife Outlet claims that I was mistaken when I reported the tampered interior product packaging.
Knife Outlet's solution is to file a claim with the shipping company and hold them responsible. This situation is by no fault of the shipping company. I do not believe in accusing them or making them responsible for the Knife Outlet's faults.
At this time Knife Outlet has informed me that that will file a claim with the shipping company on my behalf."
