"knife merchant was fine, but the shipper they used, fedex, didnt want to leave the parcel in my doors, but rather wanted me to drive way out to their depot! inconvienent?!? yes! by shipping with usps and canada post, i merely have to go to the nearest post office to get my parcel which is a five minute walk. you should give the option of what carrier the customer wants to use. but i have to say- knife merchant did a fine job besides that. jason"

"I received my Shun 6.5 inch utility knife and the edge was wavy and uneven. I have my own sharpening and polishing stones for use on katana, so I just decided to fix it myself because it would only take a few hours.
The knife, now that it's properly ground, sharpened, and polished is a thin cutting machine. I love to do tip work with it because it slides through anything with ease. Be wary of the handle though because it is very small and thin, and I have small hands. The VG-10 holds a sharp edge, not as sharp as blue carbon steel, but you don't have to worry about staining and rust as much.
My experience with Knife Merchant was great though. Fast shipping and good selection of products, but if you order any knife, be on the safe side and ask to have them check the edge to make sure it's even."
