"I bought Krex Gamer Essential System and my order actually arrived a day early. Product arrived promptly and in perfect condition. Extremely courteous customer support - very pleased with my purchase. Excellent buy!"
"Krex Computers had the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I ordered something 3 weeks ago and have not heard a thing about my item being delivered, available or even unavailable. I have called 3 times, emailed 4 times and still no response. Each time I called I was told the person I need to speak to is in a meeting, so I leave a message. NEVER BUY A THING FROM THIS COMPANY! I would never recommend them to anyone."
"Great service...Very helpful and knowledgable techs. I have used them a couple times.....very satisfied with the experience each time."
"Don't buy from Krex. Back in April 2009 I bought a Marshal Electronics mic from Krex Computers. The item was "new" and the price was good. When I recieved the product only one side of the mic worked (its a duel diaphragm mic) and the side that worked didn't work well. I tried contacting them the next day and continued to try over and over again but the person (manager by the name of Sunil) in charge of returns and refunds wouldn't answer or return my phone call. After a couple of months of going back and fourth with staff there I was able to get the manager on the phone but that didn't help as he pretended he never got a call or message from me (on my phone bill I and one of my staff had called them 28 times and sent emails). I of course was upset but remand professional... to bad he did not. Wouldn't send a replacement or refund as he said it was past their "20 day policy" for refunds. What a joke! I argued the point more (being that I called them the very next day after recieving the mic) and then he said he couldn't give me a replacement anyway because they didn't have one, still refused to give me a refund. So he said he would check with his boss and see if they can "make an exception" for me... never called me back and still will not return calls or emails. One more thing, he kept saying talk to Marshal about the warranty... but Marshal wont warranty anything from Krex as they are not an authorized dealer and something about counterfeit equipment- seems Krex has done this before. Now I'm the proud owner of a $125 dollar paper weight. I will be following up through my credit card company; hopefully this fraud can be corrected. So should you buy from Krex Computers? Ha, if you want to give your money away!"
"Worst customer service ever. I ordered an item a month ago, which was supposed to have been sent to my home. Not only have I not received the item, I have yet to have anyone respond regarding this issue. This is after several calls and numerous emails. I will never do business with this company again. "
"I brought in my laptop to have teh motherboard Dell computer supplied installed. I paid for and pick up my laptop 24 hours later. It did not work. I brought it back, I was not upset at the time, I was told it would be fixed the next day. I left work early to get there in time, they have no phone that you can call. I showed up, but the employee that works on laptops did not show up for work that day. Now I was upset. They could have called me to inform me the work was not complete. I took my laptop and had it serviced by another person who was able to complet the job in 30 minutes. Krex never even did the basics (tag the job, per dell).
Worst customer service I have ever experienced."
"I have been a (local) customer for years. My experience has been mostly positive. They tend to avoid junk and stick with proven stuff. The return policy I have never liked, but they have cut me some slack on some returns, perhaps because of my volume.
Krex was recently sold, and is now affiliated with ComputerBrain in Lincolnwood IL. So far they have maintained their old format, and have not changed much. Some of their senior employees were carried over as well."
"Purchased a ASROCK K7VM3 motherboard from Krex. Email(s) sent right after order was entered providing order information and tracking number for UPS Ground. Motherboard was well packed and showed up in perfect condition."
"If you view Krex as an online store, their prices, service, and support are mediocre. The return policy is rather harsh, but very necessary for the kind of merchandise they sell. No, they will not fraud you, or screw you over. They have no bad intentions what so ever.
Krex does have some good things going for them though. Their CPU prices are rather low, and reasonable. So are their specials of the week. Be wary of Krex's LCD monitors. Especially the CVT and Amptron line. These are the lowest quality LCD's you can buy. They will claim that they're just as good as any other LCD, but spend a bit more money and get a better product.
Never buy memory from Krex. They do not guarantee compatibility, so if the memory doesn't work with your machine, you have to pay a 15% restocking fee to return it. If the memory is BAD, and they test it as bad, they will gladly swap it for you. On the topic of warranties...
YOU MUST KEEP YOUR ORIGINAL RECEIPT OR ELSE YOU ARE DONE FOR. Krex has a policy... No warranty work without the ORIGINAL receipt. If you lose it, you're SOL. So always hang out to that receipt.
Terms and Policies... Thoroughly read through their terms and policy sheet. They ask you to sign two reciepts. And invoice and a credit card reciept. Read the back of the Invoice before signing it! Be sure you agree to their terms.
Like I said before, Krex has good deals of the week. And the best part is there is little mark up on them, so you feel good knowing they didn't make much money from it.
Krex Computer Systems... They have two lines... Pre-builts and custom builts. Their prebuilt line comes with a warranty of 1 year. You bring in your receipt or mail them your computer, and they repair it for you... That only covers HARDWARE issues. Ask which one is a prebuilt and which one is a custom. The ones under 700 are usually considered the prebuilts.
Their custom line is expensive. Don't even bother looking at them. Go to Dell and buy a computer from them, I assure you, it will be cheaper.
They also don't offer technical support like Dell does. Tech support is available until 60 days after purchase. And it's not that good.
For somebody who is tech savy enough to setup their on small business of computers or a contractor... Their prebuilt line is great. Despite having garbage parts inside, they run well. And if they break (hardware wise), you bring them to Krex with a receipt and say "Fix it".
Krex Laptops are pretty good. No tech support, but the prices are reasonable and they're built well.
If you are local, Krex has a great service department. They're honest guys that really know their stuff, and there is almost nothing they can't handle. They charge 75$ per hour which is very reasonable. Laptops have a flat fee of $140, plus parts. So if you have a laptop that's completely messed up, $140 is a bargain.
Krex also knows a bit about servers. Their preconfigured line of servers is garbage. Talk to Mike or Steve about what they can do for you.
So in summary. Yes to specials, a big yes to service, yes to prebuilts. No to everything else."
"I have purchased PC materials from krex since the late 90's. I have built or rebuilt 8 computers. Their pricing seems reasonable. the only time I dealt withthe tech staff he was helpful. i have found that heir lowend systems are reliable but lowend and their highend systems reliable but better quality. You get what you pay for. I am currently rebuilding an e-machine which had a fried motherboard. This was low end junk. I'm sure it will hum with the new cpu/motherboard package. i always reccomend Krex to friends."
"I'm a Consultant for several Insurance offices’ that has bought over $50,000.00 in merchandise from Krex.com over 3 years. 95% of the time we purchase computers for business that has to be on 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
We know that Computers aren’t perfect and make no claim to who is better.
With all the systems and components we have bought from krex over this time we have had 4 problems one with a bad motherboard that took time to take care of.
The other items had been a bad set of memory that had to be replaced.
The Motherboard problem was due to a faulty timer on the bridge and the manufacturer had stopped making that particular board. Since it was for a RAID machine it took time to work out a replacement board. The memory was a problem also from the manufacturer changing its specs and caused a bad floating point for the Mother board we had been using.
The other small problem’s were due to the machines being on 24/7 eventually a power supply will need to be replaced.
Krex has always worked with us well, even when they didn’t know us in the first several months. Prior to Krex we purchased all our equipment direct from the manufacturers and warehouses they made it easy for us to do business.

"Order a 2.8 GHz P-4 machine... When it arived, the motherboard would not see the keyboard. Have to send in the motherboard for replacement. If they "Test" these machines, how could this have happened???"
"I've ordered from this company only twice, but both times the sales people were very helpful over the phone. The main reason I don't order from them that often is that their selection is not the best."
"I've delt with Krex several times- so far VERY pleased-- I just had a problem with a MOBO that was purchased a while ago- no problem- they will back by it-- simply send it in---- THis is very unlike some other vendors that have no morals (like ArsenalPC)--
The only reason I would order from another vendor is when Krex doesn't have what I need.
They are great to deal with-- very satisfied--- Ed"
"Excellent seller. They shipped my items the same day and I had them only 2 days after I placed it. Everything was packed perfectly and all worked. I had a problem wiring the USB to the front of the case and one call to their help line did it :)
AAA Rating"
