"Two years ago sent two Gilbert AF Engines to LBR for upgrades. Upgrades to include new can motors, radio control via keyfob, new head light, new marker lights, tender reverse light and several other minor changes. After several months of emails & phone calls, one engine was returned but not working properly. I've returned it to LBR 3 times. The last time was several months ago (Sept 2022) with the understanding that there would only be a 10 day turn around if I prepaid return shipping. I did so, but 2-1/2 months later still no engine. I have never seen or heard anything about the 2nd engine despite repeated calls and emails. Two weeks ago my last agreement with him was he'd package everything up and ship it back to me and we'd sever ties. I told him if the first engine came back inoperable, he wouldn't get an "good press" from me. I still haven't seen my trains. I'm preparing to consult a lawyer to discuss my options."
"I've needed two plastic wheels for the trailing truck on my American Flyer 293 locomotive that I got in 1956 for my birthday. I found an outfit online called LBR Enterprises ( http://www.lbrenterprisesllc.com/ ). I ordered two of the wheels from them, as well as a bottle of smoke fluid.
A few weeks went by and I didn't hear anything. I emailed them to ask if they were going to ship the order. No reply. I called and left a voicemail. Again, no reply.
Finally I opened a dispute with PayPal. Then I got a reply. The owner sent me an email that said, "You started a claim against us so the only thing you will receive from us ever is a refund." I just thought that was weird.
I said I didn't want to open a dispute, but nobody had replied to me. He shot back, "We are running about 2-3 weeks behind on all of our orders. Yours was going to go out Monday. But, not now."
He wasn't replying to any of my emails, except to send ones that were taunting me after I'd opened the dispute.
Nevertheless, I said I'd order again if he could tell me when the order would ship. He said May 7th, so I placed the order.
Again, nothing. I called and emailed and got no response. I tried yesterday to file a dispute with PayPal, but it's been longer than 45 days, so that won't work. I'm just out the money.
Just a word to the wise if you're thinking of dealing with LBR Enterprises."
