"May have been my worst ever experience so far with an online vendor. I have been working and purchasing online since 1996 when I started working at Wired magazine and I have had several *very* bad experiences, but this tops them.
This company has *no* customer service. There is no way to elicit any response. I have tried email and phone numbers, but have not gotten any response. Their phone service suggests leaving a phone number for sales calls, but no one has contacted me yet. You cannot get an operator. I have not gotten an email response. Should I fax them?
Here's is the laundry list of problems:
1. The product was NOT listed as refurbished, yet it obviously is, as noted by packaging. (I saved the page html, docking it via net methods into historical backup, other ways to get this data anyway, if legal reasons require it.)
2. They messed up the UPS tracking number.
The package was impossible to track.
3. The product does not function AT ALL. It is a Panasonic DVD recorder and does not even turn on - only a F60 error shows on the display.
4. They poorly copied a SMALL portion of the owner's manual (maybe 20 out of 84 pages) and conveniently clipped off a majority of the words on many pages. This product has a notoriously difficult manual; without 75% of it, it is useless.
5. They did not include batteries with the remote, as the product list suggests. (minor)
6. Their return policy is 5 days upon receipt for new purchases. I must send this back immediately, AT MY COST, to get a refund. All 'refurbished' products are sold 'as-is', meaning they might not work at all. This is the whole reason why I was somewhat comforted that the product was new, at least I had an option of returning it.
Regardless, I will blast my opinion on these guys all over the net via tech tools and through friends (have many friends who review net companies). Hopefully no one will have to purchase from this company without severe caveat."
