"We love the teachers! That is what is keeping us there. We have had communication issues with the director but after many conversations they have slowly improved."
"The first 2-3 years at this school was awesome! The teachers were great, nurturing and friendly. Not sure what happened that caused just about all of the teachers to leave but the teachers which replaced them are not performing at at the caliber that their predecessors were. I'm not sure if the curriculum in the pre-school class is benefiting my child as they are one of the oldest there. At times, the teacher:child ratio is not being adhered to according to the law. I've had to ask another teacher at the desk to help an overwhelmed teacher! There have been teachers that physically discipline the children (I've had to tell a parent that their child was getting physically reprimanded). And at times I hear the teachers yelling at the kids. I'm not as happy as I once was with this school. I haven't pulled my child out because of the friends that are remaining that were there since infancy and it is our last year there."
"Wonderful. Everyone really loves Natasha! She sleeps so well at night after school! That means she’s busy and stimulated!"
"I have been very happy with the school and so have both my girls! Teachers are amazing and I am informed of the going ons of my children."
"I needed to find care pretty last minute for my son. I was a stay at home mom up until enrolling in la petite and I have had a wonderful experience. I went on a tour and Miss Belinda was extremely welcoming, helpful and made me feel extremely confident in the programs and services offered. Everyday my 1 year old is smiling both at drop off and pick up, really the best thing I could hope for!"
"It has completely fallen apart"
"I feel confident that the teachers are taking good care of my child. I especially appreciate the news and photos through the app."
"Love this school! The teachers are great and the schedule is flexible."
"In general our experience has been positive. Unfortunately we have recently noticed an increase in turnover with some of our favorite teachers replaced with teachers who are much less engaged with the children. Some of the new teachers often seem annoyed with the children for doing things that are developmentally appropriate."
"I love some of my son’s teachers, especially Gabrielle & Velvet in the mornings and then Erika & Shana in the evenings. The lead, Tiara is great, always smiling & helpful. And Ms. Jaki in the infant room has been welcoming & fun loving from day one!"
"We love Ms. Keisha, she is supportive, communicative, and we feel safe leaving our newborn with her. We know that she will be well taken care of and entertained throughout the day."
"April assisted our family with setting up a “flex pass” that allowed us to use the facility temporarily while we were in the area during a medical emergency. She and her staff went above and beyond to make the administration process simple and, most importantly, provide a welcoming and nurturing environment to my theee year during daytime hours while mom was visiting his little brother at the nearby Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital. Everyone was very friendly and supportive. My son enjoyed meeting new friends at his three week “summer camp.” Thank you La Petite!"
"Overall very very happy, just think there may be a staffing shortage at the school resulting in shuffling staff around. See question 35."
"Poor general experience. There is no indoor play area so the children are cooped up in their classroom all winter. Our teacher in particular was slow to let the kids out even in good weather (I.e. other classes went out, just not ours)If teachers are leaving they wait until the last possible moment to let you know. New staff do not have name tags or introduce themselves or their roles. The teachers & management push academics to all in the 3/4 year old classroom. They want your tired 3 year old to go home in the evening & do homework! It doesn’t matter to them that educational research clearly shows no benefit to young children but can cause harm in terms of setting up a negative attitude towards school & arguments with parents. They teach 3 year olds to tie string around their necks as ‘crafts’. They will not listen to any parental concern about the hazards of strangulation or dangers to the child’s younger sibling(s) if they copy this at home. The school is generally grubby."
"La Petite is extraordinarily expensive, and in this it compares unfavorably to other schools offering similar levels of care."
