"All the teachers are very caring and have done a wonderful job providing an engaging learning environment for our children."
"- invest in upgrading the school, like fresh paint or a welcoming reception area.- invest in hiring teachers that care about the children. This school is always understaffed and the few teachers that are there are well under qualified.- update the food options, I mean it’s summer time, there are all types of fresh fruits and vegetables out there. I’m sure many children would love grapes and all watermelon types out there.- have real plans for educational activities for toddlers. - consider having a teacher to look over the rest of the children when the main teacher is busy changing a diaper for one child. - this school has always been understaffed so the director is never at her desk, no one has been answering the phone or really taking concerns seriously.-teachers need to communicate when they switch. what parents say at pick up needs to be communicated to all the teachers working in the classroom that day. If it doesn’t concern me I wouldn’t have said it at pick up."
"We absolutely love the current staff. The new directors are amazing and communicate well. Betsy is great with our daughter and my son has absolutely taken to Ms Kayla she is beyond wonderful."
"The new director and assistant have been great and easy transition. Miss Kayla and Miss Betsy are both wonderful with interacting with my children and communication."
"It’s been great! Love the staff and our daughter is adjusting well. Over all it’s been an easy transition and we’re happy with our experience so far."
"The building is very old, not very welcoming. They school is always understaffed and the few teachers are always complaining. Most teachers are high school graduates who are mostly under qualified, they’re there for the paycheck only. If you bring up issues to the director, she listens, but issues don’t really matter."
"The school has had a lot of turnover in the last 2 years, some good in and out and some bad in and out. I think most teachers are caring, but I don’t know that they are helping to progress my child’s education as well as they could or should be. I think more communication around education and evaluations would be great."
"This place has always been understaffed. The director is never at her desk. Sometimes I see parents opening the door for the next person walking in, without knowing who they are. The director should be at the desk to see who is coming in and out of the school for the sake of safety.
Most of the staff (if not all) are young women that are high school graduates (not actual licensed babysitter or teachers). They come and work for few months and leave. There is no consistency at all for the little ones with who takes care of them. I asked some of the teachers about training courses and the answer was there is no such thing.
Cleanness is not a priority, I see sippy cups that are not fully cleaned (the lid part is absolutely dirty) that just came out of the kitchen, and milk/water is about to be served in those cups for the kids.
Kids make a mess when they eat, And I have seen teachers use plastic bibs once or twice only and when they ran out no one order any. So kids have to be changed after meals which is not very time efficient.
I have seen kids putting toys in the mouth and teachers didn’t care to take the dirty toys out of the play area. Simply because they are busy watching other children or changing diapers (again understaffing issue).
All diapers are kept in one big cabinet with no dividers in between. This caused all the diaper to be mixed up all the time. I have see babies with other baby’s diapers on. Personally that happened twice to my little one.
Brightwheel app is a great app for communicating with parents but unfortunately teachers don’t have enough time to do that. I have to ask for pictures of my little one every single day; to receive only one to three pictures at the max. Teachers don’t reply to my messages in a timely manner because they are busy watching children (again understaffing issue).
The toys and the books are too old and overused. I actually have seen one teacher does the story time, rest of teachers don’t really care.
I have seen teachers cleaning up the toys instead of trying to calm a fussy baby.
I think understaffing is a big problem. They diffidently need more qualified teachers. This way if parents have any concerns, the director will actually have some time to address them instead of working in a classroom or in the kitchen preparing meals. "
"Great school since Crystal became a director. Miss Lisa has been instrumental as well. There are a core five at the school that make it stable for our child - see the above and Courtney, Kayla and Morgan. They are the standard and our child loves each of them. We just need to understand more about the curriculum and what is being accomplished everyday now that our child's progress is more measurable."
"Most of the staff are super nice but we just don't get a full daily report on how his day went. Since I can't be with him all day I want to at least know what he did and how he acted all day."
"We love the director and assistant director, Crystal and Lisa. La Petite as a company is not giving the resources needed to make this a quality school. The building is old, not handicap friendly, small and severely sloped parking, play ground needs updating, etc. The entire school needs to be moved to another building. Also, for the amount we pay here we can pay for a nicer facility and lower turnover of teachers. Your turnover should not be every other month, I can understand 6-12 months maybe (more so 12) but this is ridiculous. If u aren't paying the teachers enough, they dont care as much which is reflected on our children. Respect ur employees so they stick around or you will keep losing families to your competition."
"the staff is very nice and seen to care about my child."
"Wonderful. I will be sorry when I have to leave soon and attend a different daycare."
"Megan and Michelle are always helpful and my daughter just loves Ms. Toni."
