"We have been at the Summerville LA Petite since January 2013. My 5 yr old started at the age of 2. He barely spoke as his hearing was diminished. Following his ear surgery and the return of his hearing, he has bloomed. Every teacher at the school has loved and nurtured both of my son's beyond measure.Mrs. Linda teaches my 5 year old...who will begin kindergarten in the fall reading at a 2nd grade level. She is so amazing with the kids, educationally and emotionally. All off the teachers make such a difference in the daily lives of my children. I will forever be grateful for their assistance in raising my 2 boys."
"So disappointing. There is so much turnover, including with directors and teachers. We are thankful for the teachers who are there, but this school is struggling so much."
"This school has been a roller coaster ride to say the least. The only time it hasnt been shut down due to staffing or other issues has been when Maureen stepped in, and when she had to close early this past friday to get her house back in order (in my words) she was incredibly remorseful and apologetic"
"Disappointing - frequent classroom closures, no activities for infants/toddlers, toddler teacher frequently is absent"
"I love the teacher but the director is not personable and seems rude and short when you try and talk to her."
"I will never send my son back to the school."
"This school went from great to horrible. They close down classes without giving a reasonable notice. Example picked my child up at 5:30 pm to find out his class room is close the next day. Teacher do not seem involved with their students. Programs are not being followed for their education. Only teacher that is amazing is the 5 year old teacher in the beginning class room as you walk in. She teachers the pre-k."
"Overall, I love many of the staff members, the assistant director is awesome. The new director is not very personable. Biggest issue is that the repeat school closings are problematic. This is adversely affecting my family and our employment. I understand that background checks and paperwork get delayed, but it is a huge issue that needs to be addressed. Perhaps shifting staff from other locations or offering alternative sites where our children can go, but just randomly saying “we gotta close your child’s class” through an app is ridiculous."
"I love my son’s teacher and director of the school! They take care of him like he is their own child. The only thing I don’t like is the price and that they keep having staff issues which result in me leaving work early to get my son."
"Jacqueline Jones is the most incompetent, unprofessional, gas lighting childcare director I’ve ever encountered steer clear! I’m not sure what happened with learning care group but I am DISAPPOINTED AND VERY DISGUSTED if your child has any disabilities stay far away they WILL discriminate against your child."
"Would not have kept them here except for us qualifying for the 4k and 4k sibling program."
"It's more about polities and money than it is about the teachers and the children."
"As a busy member of the military I thought I had finally found a decent daycare for my infant that wasn't too far from home or too expensive, but was also secure and in a good area- which is hard enough in this area. But after not even a whole week, they wasted dozens of ounces of breast milk and had even went over 6 hours without feeding my daughter on more than one occasion. The neglect and abuse was appalling and the relatively high rating this establishment has achieved is insane- I just hope such awful supervision and care isn't going unnoticed by other parents.
Not to mention they continued to deduct money from my account after our daughter was taken out, and it was double the normal amount. Absolutely criminal!
Not to mention on their site they site *this sites* reviews, and say they have a “4.5 out of 5”!?"
"Amazing and never would have considered other options prior to what happened to the previous director. I’m certain numerous teachers will follow her as well."
"I'm not in love with the overall vibe I have when I'm in the building. This is my daughter's second school in 2 years and it's hard to switch around. I was hoping it would be like recommended. Recently they have a new teacher who I always see cuddling and reading books to the children on camera. This has kept me around longer. My daughter actually enjoys going to school recently."
"Overall experience has been good, but would have appreciated heads up when weekly tuition was increasing."
