"I love the classroom teachers; they are very communicative, friendly, & nurturing. I feel comfortable leaving my child in their care. The relationships with both the teachers & administration help quell the typical anxiety that comes with leaving your child with someone else."
"My husband and I love this school! They have made it a great place for my daughter to come. She now gets up on school days and is so excited to get ready and get to school. This place is great!"
"The director seems incapable of handling basic billing issues. Whenever we have an issue with our account due to her inability to credit our discount, we will have a balance on our account for several weeks before she corrects it. She has contacted us on our vacation requesting payment when we notified her that we would not be there for that week. We paid our reservation fee for that week and she was contacting us for the next week's tuition. We complained many times about issues with mud on the playground and she never did anything about it. That issue was resolved once the Assistant Director, Jennifer started. Jennifer goes above and beyond to address our needs and makes every effort to build a reporte with us and both our children. The only reason we have stayed this long is because of Jennifer, Ashley, Raben, Kiera, and April. They all go above and beyond to get to know is and our children."
"The warmth of the staff members. We are very new to Georgia, so a school/daycare with a caring staff was a must for our kids. Our minds are at ease knowing they are in great care."
"great management and friendly staff"
"As stated in the various comment boxes above we have had very highs and very lows with the Tyrone location. We continue to take our child there as she knows and loves the staff. Unfortunately there has been such a high turn over this year alone in the staff that it has been very hard to find reasons to keep her there. No communication is sent out that a teacher is leaving regardless of how they left. You walk in one day and there's a new face in your child's room. The turn over in teachers in our child's room has been alarming and has delayed some of the normal learning. The teacher in there now seems to be working to correct that. So we will wait and see. Fingers crossed that she is able to stay on long enough and given a chance and support to succeed.Jennifer, the assistant director, and Ashley, the program director have both worked very hard to ensure that our relationship has been made whole. I cannot say the same for Kiesha. Rarely do we see her at drop off/pick up. When speaking with her on the rare occasions there is warmth in her voice does show in her eyes. If feels as if she only says what she thinks you want to here. We normally try to only speak with Jennifer and Ashley unless it is an issue that they feel Kiesha needs to be brought in on. Jennifer and Ashley will love on our child and are genuinely happy when we walk in the door."
"I love the directors however the teacher turnover rate makes it hard on the parents and students."
"Field trips/ science related activities"
"Leaving your child with a non family member while you go to work can be stressful. La Petite makes this process much easier by having a safe, nurturing, fun environment. The staff greets your child by name as they walk in the door, which makes my son excited to arrive. All of his teachers so far have been AMAZING. They encourage growth in all areas, and we can see his development weekly. I love that he is fed balanced nutritious meals while he is there. Thank you for all you do, and I appreciate it every day."
"I like the new director and I know she is working to get consistency in my son's classroom as well as others."
"I have two biological children who have been at La Petite Tyrone and 4 different foster children who attend/attended over the past 5 years. We've seen a lot of change (both good and bad) but right now we are confident in the interim director and she has been so awesome in a stressful situation. We look forward to staying with La Petite as our family's needs grow."
"several years ago there was a strong leader who truly managed the facility. Staff turnover was low and the teacher to student ratio seemed to be manageable for the teachers. Each classroom had kids in it and now there are multiple empty classrooms because people have left. THe environment is clearly stressful for the teachers and they cannot do their jobs effectiveley because they are outnumbered and oerwhelmed. I cannot speak for every teacher but I am sure most would agree if they had more help they could be better at updating parents, engaging in the curriculum, and delivering on the expectation of la petit. further, they clearly do not feel valued as a staff. When you see their faces and hear the way they speak about their days it goes far beyond it being a tough job. I do not think most would disagree they are all in a tough position which is stressful in it of itself. However, if they had more support and they felt valued it might put a smile on their face when they see parents after a long day. If la petite continues to value profits over hiring more staff this facility may continue to go downhill. You have a couple empty classrroms right now and that may increase unless changes are made."
"The last 5-6 months have not been great. Too many teacher turn overs. There are times I don’t know who my child’s teacher is because his teacher changes every other week. Too many teachers have left leaving the school significantly understaffed. The great teachers have left. It’s a disorganized environment. It’s hard to rate our child’s teacher when theres so many staff changes. We don’t receive updates on brightwheel about our child anymore. We don’t know the lesson plan. We feel that our son is no longer advancing like he used to when he first started attending the school. Every week our child’s belongings (ie clothing) is missing. The one thing I can say is that the school seems safe. My child used to get hurt often (many incident reports) due to another child but once that child/family was finally asked to leave the school, my child seems happier and safer."
"Overall I like what the school offers, although everything has been a little crazy since my child started and it hasn't been exactly how it was supposed to due to teachers out hiring new teachers, and the old director leaving. so understandably it's been a little crazy.its my child's first time in an environment like this so it took her some getting used to which wasn't easy with all the crazyness going on but she's mostly adjusted now. I like the program alot and I can see that she's learning more there then when she was home and she doesn't get in trouble at home as much because she listens more. ( Though partly her acting out was having a new sibling who was getting alot of attention and she used to have all the attention before. So going to school has helped) the class sizes are nice and and the out side play area is very nice "
"I absolutely love this school and how they cater to the children's needs and education. The only thing I would say is that it would be nice to have consistency as far as teachers and classrooms. My son has been moved around a lot and it makes me question his stability. However, I understand how things can be when it comes to employee retention rate. Other than that, I love this school and am grateful for Ms. Keisha !!"
