"Worry of class closures due to staff shortage"

"The teacher turnover has made it difficult on our child since there is no consistency. The best teacher she had was let go by the school with no explanation or honest communication with the families. We were told she took a vacation. Then several teachers have come and gone with no updates to us. Now over the last two months the school closing classes, limiting daily attendance, and closing classes early, has caused us to look elsewhere. There are waitlists at other locations, so we feel stuck while this center makes no improvements to this “staffing” issue. It is bad business and needs to be rectified."

"Teachers love our children and do their best, but management has set them up for failure and burnout while suppressing hiring wages lower than market. This expounds the stress from dumping the other facility into this one due to a management failure resulting in licensure revocation. The lack of communication about that event and staffing issue since has tarnished all of the great things the classroom staff attempts to do daily."

"We started off well, Kristen has listened to many of our concerns and addressed them professionally but have not been met with the same care regarding the new director, especially recent events. Maybe some classes on collaboration with families and building genuine rapport? I would’ve also like to see more security measure put into place after finding a homeless person sleeping in the building. I would’ve hoped to consistently see some sort of adult in the front always supervising who was entering and leaving the front door."

"Overall, my daughter has thrived at this daycare. She is socialized and learning new positive behaviors (such as patience, routine). She gets to try new foods and is eating with her classmates daily. She also has certain teachers that she truly enjoys being with. We feel the staff are happy to be working with my daughter and treat her very well.Staff turnover is high, however. I have noticed a lot of new hires (which is great), however, the new hires are not introduced to the families as they are onboarded. The Sprout About app would be a great way to do this, as a picture of the new team member could be posted, along with which age groups they will be working with. This would give the parents a heads up when they drop off their child and don't recognize the teacher. Also, I have noticed most teachers float between rooms when staffing is low, so introductions would be helpful for all age groups."

"All of the staff is so kind to myself and my son at every drop off/pick up. They are all very informative and great at communicating everything to me about my sons day. This is the first daycare I have ever had my son in and I am so impressed with everyone and I truly feel comfortable leaving my child with his teachers and everyone at this school."
