"Bought a brand new i5 model Acer Laptop, accidently spilled Georgia SWEET tea on it and all the keys got stuck. Acer wanted several hundred $ to fix. I would need to remove all my data and programs before sending in for repair. I tried to clean keyboard with Electronic contact cleaner recommended by the store where I just (2 wks ago) purchased Laptop. Big mistake cleaner said OK for most plastics, sprayed on and froze the keys and the began pooping off like "fleas on a dog".

"I had a key break on my keyboard, so I went to laptopkey to order a replacement. They had my netbook listed on the site, so I placed an order for the only key type they had listed.

I received the key approximately a week later and it didn't fit - it was the wrong key type. I promptly emailed them, to which they responded that I had ordered the wrong type of key and they sent me a link to the page where my netbook was listed. I was told I had made a mistake in my order but I could order the other key. Lo' and behold, when I clicked on the page there were now 2 key types for this model.

I was a little confused, so I checked the Google Cache of the page, and sure enough the cached page only had one key type. They added the key after my email so it would appear that I was in error!

I told them this and I was able to negotiate to have them send me the correct part in exchange for me sending back the incorrect key. Still, I find it very strange that they would update the page like this.

In any case, they eventually sent me the correct key after identifying it from a photo. Because I now have a working keyboard, on the whole, I am a happy customer.

If I were to order from here again in the future I would definitely send them an email first with some pictures of my key to ensure that I was sent the correct one the first time."

Everybody told me that I should buy a new keyboard, and mount the entire one myself, or send it to the company to be repaired. And then I found this company, I should have known it since the first day because it was great. "I bought a single spacebar for my Pavilion DV5000 in December 2010. After 1 month the spacebar *still* hadn't arrived! I contacted laptop key and a rep apologised and sent out a replacement next day at no extra cost. Original order was assumed lost in transit. It arrived within a week. I used the online key installation video to figure out how to attach the key. The tutorial was for a regular key but the spacebar fitting was similar. The quality of the key itself was like new.

Their website is excellent, purchase process was simple, customer service was very good. The only thing I would fault them for was not using recorded delivery to ship the key internationally (I would be happy to pay extra for this) and the website didn't cover the installation of my specific key (a spacebar), although it wasn't too difficult to figure out using the video as a guide.
