"Avoid unless you need no after sales support or quality items
have used this company before but luckily had no issues with faults.
My best advice is to avoid at all cost. Terrible service with regards to faulty item purchased within last 28 days, (swann cctv unit with faulty camera) their "own brand" electriQ products are possibly the worse i have purchased (induction hob and food blender).
Will never use again, also go by the name shop-direct, tv's-direct, appliances-direct."
"Its been a month trying to get a refund on a one month old faulty Tv. Not a good experience. Tv has been picked up now waiting to hear from Case handler, its been week and half. Terrible service and process.
Please stay away from Laptop direct"
"I bought two Samsung s9 phones as Christmas presents .Delivery man left my parcel at wrong house ,2 days later I got my parcel battered .Opened the box and one phone and no documentation I paid for two phones in full and of course panic set in .Contacted customer services and they have had their investigations running from the 20 th sept until today when they Told me I have to go to police and get a crime number .Ive done this and sent an email to them .I am not letting this go as I’m 600 pound out of pocket "
"I have terrible experience with this company as they sent me faulty goods (two TV sets that have problems with WiFi and cable connection), after trying to call or chat with customer support they tried some extreme stupid explanation (sending me email) for TVs not working, of course they were not right, just stalling the issue. Mail said they will call in next 36 hours - still nobody called several days after. And when you send them answer, they do not reply . Their phone numbers are not reachable (calling from Ireland). Delivery was too late, I've paid for express (three working days), delivery took longer that that. (Customer support answered my call BEFORE purchase, but not AFTER). On my direct question before purchase if one specific app that was very important for me exists, they said of course - you can download it from app store. Only after purchase and trying to find it I found out that app is not existing on mentioned app store at all. When trying to fill return form on their website their system does not let me send it as it says that "I am trying to return more goods then were bought with that purchase number". And this is THEIR online form that says 2x qty - and you can not change that. Joke of the company. All of this is still in progress as nobody answers on my emails. I strongly suggest not to make any business with them."
"Absolutely do not use this company.
if you do don't expect any customer service.
I had faulty graphics card that they refuse to fix even though it is still under warranty. I then talked to directly with the manufacturer who agreed to replace the card directly to myself, if LaptopsDirect would filled out a simple RMA form.. That is all they had to do...... But incredibly they just point blank refused. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH. "
"Stay away from these cowboys. I see a lot of positive reviews on the internet, but all they ever state is how fast products are delivered..... Not if you want to return a faulty product!
I asked for my monitor to be returned for either a replacement or repair. The 2 issues were backlight bleed and a faulty audio jack. I had to pay for shipping, £33 with insurance (a £600 monitor). They returned the monitor very quickly, no email detailing the repair, and no note with the monitor stating any diagnosis. You know why right? Because they did nothing! I sent them a subsequent email, very polite mind you, stating that the monitor has been sent back by mistake. I received no response from them after this.
Luckily, Acer have identified the exact faults I found with the monitor. So I clearly was not making them up. The monitor now seems unrepairable so they have issued a refund. Now that is fantastic customer service, something laptop direct should look up to. I have recently sent them another emailing stating how ignorant and poor their customer service is. I got no apology from them, no refund for the shipping I paid (they state that they refund postage costs if it is faulty) and it just feels like you're talking to an automated machine. "good morning, thank you for your email" "good afternoon, thank you for your email". I'm pretty sure Sue and Helen are some sort of OS system. Trying to get an invoice from them (to show Acer) was such hard work, 3 emails later!!! I will never go near this company again and will advise everyone I know not to use them!"

On the day of delivery they advised the delivery date was being moved by three weeks.
I promptly called to cancel the order as this was extremely poor and I needed those items on the day. The funds for the order were taken immediately which I do not agree as a business practice, they should only be taken when dispatched.
Although I rejected the items as requested and also sent all accepted items back it took over 2 months to receive a refund for the item I rejected. The only time anything appeared to be done about it was when I called, repeatively.
My view of laptops direct is nothing more than a drop shipper using their customers money to float their business. Taking funds from customers and delaying orders is a highly questionable business practice.
I am very much out of pocket from waiting on the customer helpline which no one ever answers trying to sort out this mess for months. The 13ppm plus the access charge of 11ppm means the calls are charged at 24ppm so for the first 30 minutes everytime I have called waiting for the privledge of someone to pick up the phone I have been charged £7.20 each time. I have had to call numerous times and again operating in this manner is highly questionable I am out of pocket by £50 from the screw ups from this company.
I would suggest many of the reviews on here are false as this company is a completely over rated drop shipper. Where ever possible I would avoid and either use Amazon or a equivalent company that has some reputation and isn't just a *drop shipper*

"Ordered a phone from them which said in stock, they took my money and even had the cheek to take a payment for next day delivery. I noticed on the tracking page it said awaiting stock but still said due for delivery tomorrow. I rang and was told it was out of stock despite the website still showing available stock an hour after I ordered. I spoke to Sonia first who was polite and she passed me on Jake who kept trying to talk over me, how rude. He made some pretty crappy offers for a smaller phone for another £80 or another phone for £180 more. I paid £610 instantly for a product they never had and now I have to wait up to 5 working days to get a refund "
"They advertise item as in stock. Then I find out myself it was not in stock. I spent a day online to their chat and got cut off about 6 times. Then they say it was posted, after emailing me to ask if I wanted to cancel. Most appalling service in the history of the Universe and nobody there knows what is going on!! Unless you go into their store I would advise that you should in no way deal with their online service. The stress is simply not worth it. "
"Absolute joke of a company.
Sold me a laptop in April of this year and after the purchase was contacted by Craig Bomttomley of the sales team, who offered to sell me a one year warranty. I contacted him several times wishing to take this offer up and received no response. Almost predictably the laptop has a fault and because no warranty was successfully purchased, they will do nothing to fix the fault. Of course, calling the repair team has you on hold for fifteen minutes at the cost of 13p per minute whilst looking to speak to the sales team takes you straight through, showing that once again they are a company keen to make a quick buck with no interest in looking for returning customers. Quoting EU law at them has no effect on their performance either.
The European Directive 1999/44/EC says all EU countries have to ensure a retailer could be held liable for all "non-conformities" which manifest within two years from delivery.
Thereby, the retailer should help me with this issue. Instead they have flouted the law, charged me to call them and showed no interest in helping. A pathetic company which with any luck will go under."
"i ordered on October, it's December and they keep sending emails there's a delay with the order, i want to cancel it and apparently it is impossible!! this is a BIG FRAUD!!!"
"BUYERS BEWARE: Laptops Direct / BuyitDirect / Direct Tvs / AppliancesDirect/ DronesDirect – they use 0871 PREMIUM NUMBER at minimum for their Sales / General enquires / information - expect to be charged hefty amount on your bills. Modern day fraud – can’t believe they are getting away with it! If you are being robbed even before buying, then what do you expect their after care to be!"
"Laptops Direct are quick to take your money but should you need customer service then at that point you will get the run around, excuses, and the kitchen sink in order to not give you a refund.
They delivered a defective computer i.e. stone cold dead. It was returned (to their supplier - they don't actually have ANY computers in stock, they simply pass the order on to any number of 3rd parties) and accepted as being faulty, yet **** took over a month to get my money back.
If you check out their reviews on here and other review sites you will be shocked by how many people have similar experiences of their truly awful, duplicitous customer service
"
"Ordered a Laptop, got sent a computer mouse - contacted customer service who said they would TRY to call me back within 2 days!
... and until they had completed their investigation I would not get a refund.
No investigation needed - I return the goods, I get my money back.
Shocking attitude of customer services and no interest in following the Distance Selling Regs - avoid these people at all costs"
"I bought a laptop, which was advertised as containing a set of hardware however the laptop I received did not contain that hardware, it contained 4x less specification hardware. When I questioned this, the company said they didn't sell it as having the other hardware - I sent a screenshot where it clearly says in the description it would contain that, and they didn't comment and just said they weren't prepared to do anything about it or even take responsibility for their advertisements.
So be careful - you probably don't have what you believe you bought, and if that's the case, they won't take responsibility for it."
