"I visited the leobarnett.com website and it states they have the canon optura 60 in stock. I called to verify this information and sure enough I was told several times YES the item was in stock. Great so I ordered the camcorder. At the end of my order the salesman asked if I wanted an extra long life battery. I said no. He then put me on hold and came back a few minutes later. He then told me about a "Special Deal". Buy a 129 dollar charger and you'll get the long life battery free. I said no again. He then asked me if I wanted the "Starter Kit", again I said no thankyou. The camera is just fine. He put me on hold again. When he came back he told "I just checked with the warehouse and we actually dont have the camera in stock". Great, I cancelled my order. Just like other New York stores I've heard about here, these guys are no different. If you dont shell out the extra bucks.... then magically your item wont be in stock."
"The old bait and switch almost strikes again. I ordered a Panasonic PV-GS250 for the wife on a Saturday. Leobarnet leaves a phone message to confirm the order on Monday. 'Could not get through to anyone at the 800 # they left. A few messages and quite a lot of pressure from an angsty wife later, I called the 888 number on their website. I got someone who promptly switches me to high-powered sales lady who claims they wanted to confirm my billing and shipping address. Both addresses rolled off my tongue and before I know it she is advising me on batteries they have on discount that will last longer than the 15minute battery that comes with the camera. Oh, and they have a charger that will save me time (if I have ever tried to charge batteries with on camera chargers, she lectures me, I'd know it takes more than 24 hrs!). To lengthen this long story, I turn down these offers and insist I only want the camera. She puts me on hold to check with the warehuse. When she returns, she tells me there will be a SLIGHT delay with the order. Because of the rebate (wink, wink) the cameras are in backorder! I cancelled the immediately. I can't have stores like this one spoil my holidays. GREED IS GOOD. But, TOO MUCH GREED is expensive. Stay away from Leobarnet and stores like them! You will eventually pay a whole lot more -- in money, time, patience (or impatience) and, in my case, a disappointed wifey pooh. NOT WORTHY IT. "
"Website and salesperson claimed item was in stock when it was not. Customer service was unresponsive via email, and was argumentative via phone."
"Ordered camera (Nikon 5400) on 2-5-05, I was told it was in stock. Called 3 days later and was assured it would be shipped today. I was high pressured during that call to by extras for the camera. Called back on 2-11-05 and was told that it was not in stock. Cancelled order."
