"I ordered four solar light ropes in the daylight white. I wanted to test them to see if they worked before I totally unpackaged them. So I took them out of the box, took the protective plastic film off the solar panel and carefully set the panels to face the sun. They were only out about half of a sunny, fall day. Brought them inside, forgot about them and tested them the next day. Upon turning the switch "on", each one immediately lite up instantly. Wonderful! A very bright white. I haven't uncoiled the ropes yet, but it looks like there won't be any problem there. Operator hint for the switch; it is a three position slide switch. Center is off, and either side is "on" or "mode" for the blinking effect. "
