"Extra-Large Disappointment

LivingXl 1,000-lb. Capacity Extra-Wide Portable Padded Quad Chair-
In Feb 2009, I ordered this 1,000 lb capacity outdoor chair. The chair has had light use, just a few times a year and my weight is less than 400 lbs. I bought this chair because I wanted a chair that I could be sure would last and would support my weight. Recently, the chair back tore from the frame. I can't tell you how disappointed I am that this product didn't hold up. I don't mind paying a premium price for quality, but I certainly don't feel I got my money's worth, this time.
LivingXL's initial response to my complaint is that they only have a 90 day return policy and mentioned that they now have a different manufacturer for this product.
I have been a long time customer of the Casual Male Retail Group which includes LivingXL, Casual Male XL, DestinationXL, Rochester Big & Tall, Big & Tall Factory Direct and Shoes XL. To think that this brand will not stand behind their products is very discouraging. I have always trusted this brand for quality products and have not previously had any problems. Yes, it's true that I have had the chair for 2 1/2 yrs, but it has had only occasional use. A $25 chair from Walmart would last longer than that for the average sized person. This chair is rated for 1000 lbs, which is more than 2 1/2 times the weight that it was used for. The fact that they now use a different manufacturer for this product suggests to me that they are fully aware that the original manufacturer was not producing an acceptable product.
After a follow-up complaint I was offered a 10% discount on a replacement, which I feel is falls far short of reasonable.
