"I contacted LS&B to inquire about their sales process. I was considering placing a 1942 K-98 for sale with them. I described the rifle which was very close to all matching and had an F-N barrel with a waffenamt marking. After being told of their excessive, if not exorbitant, commission I decided not to list with them.
Later I found that I was not able to place a bid on one of their customer's listings because I was now blocked.
That decision was made arbitrarily and I consider it to be vindictive. I believe it is a true indicator of the quality and integrity of their business.

This on-line order was confirmed at the site after checkout with the total cost shown, and the same total was shown in a confirmation email I received. Cool, my gear is on the way.
Not cool! While in transit (same day as arrival) I get an email saying shipping is now $3.50 higher, and sure enough when I check my online CC charges, there was the original amount, and an additional $3.50 charge!
I email them, asking that I get a refund for the mistake. My reply back is "it's all in the shipping FAQ's", and the charges stand. Funny how two confirmations are correct, then a bogus shipping charge is added w/o allowing me the option to cancel??? This is sneaky at best, and outright dishonest at worst. NOTHING at the time of checkout says a thing about approximate shipping charges.
Worse yet, they say I was charged exactly what it cost them, yet the postage label was $1.35 less than the the inflated bogus shipping charge??? I ask them about this, and I'm told the $1.35 extra is for insurance, yet the box has absolutely no USPS insurance sticker???
Reputable businesses like Cabelas have a space in the ordering section that will state if extra charges will be added, and if they make a mistake, they handle it professionally... Not a terse one sentence snippet reply as I got from LS&B.
Watch out for Lock Stock & Barrel and their hidden shipping charges, and their lack of responsibility to gain the TRUST of a customer."
