"Ordered this to be the watch I wear at work. I work nights so the luminous dial with black hands and markers is on point. The bezel has a bit of back play bit every thing lines up nice, and the case shrouds it some so I can't imagine knocking it out of position, so it hits all the high notes for the occasional timing task I may need it for
Braclet is nicer than most of my (admitidly not exspensive-mostly orients) collection. Even still I prefer leather for day to day wear so I tossed it on a bund strap and I like the look
This is the most accurate non quartz watch I own. After a few days it seems to be settling on roughly plus /minus 2 seconds a day
So in short, for my wants, this is a nearly perfect tool watch. Fit and finish is nice, very accurate, the glowbulb of a dial, sapphire crystal that I shouldn't be able to scuff up. I have no complaints. If I could change any thing I would probably want some more contrast for the day and date wheels. Maybe black with white markings instead of white with black? It's not problematic but the white does sort of disappear into the dial

All that said, I would love to see a flieger type b dial with this luminous face, and some sort of bezel for the odd timing task. Might be too much of a mash up for most though, so I'm not surprised I haven't seen that combination any where
So if night time legibility is what you want, and you dig the diver style, you really can't go wrong here. This is my first islander but I doubt it will be my last "

The turquoise is simply beautiful. The watch is quite stunning and will look great whether I am dress up or not. "
