"The search engine was easy to use to sort through the thousands of diamonds they had. All diamonds were GIA certified and the full cert can be viewed. The diamond I purchased arrived just as described online and several stores I was looking at for the metal band could even come close to the diamond price. The delivery was very fast and was shipped inside of 3 fedex boxes (small inside medium inside large), so very well protected. Email responses have been within an hour every time. I would note that I visited diamond stores and looked at actual diamonds and compared them to the GIA certification. "I NEVER write reviews - period. I am making an exception this once as it may help others in the market get the value we all deserve but seldom find. Buying a diamond is NOT the same as an *uber-subjective task of something like buying a piano. With diamonds there is actually lots of very clear math, angles, light characteristics, color, fluorescence, and location of defects (inclusions) that make a diamond relatively straightforward to evaluate. Again, pianos are much harder to evaluate, ask my daughter. If you trust the physics, you can take advantage of a reputable outfit that has lower overhead (cost of sales) but wonderful and personal service. That directly translates into savings for you. I have gone the custom jeweler route, as well as the on-line 'Blue' route but happily settled on Lumera for this simple reason - better value with exceptional quality. I purchased a round 1.19 carat, H color, excellent cut, VS1 diamond. Lumera was quick to answer the phone with a live person to answer any questions on multiple occasions. They helped me compare one stone vs another, the location of any inclusions and overall value without steering me towards the more expensive stone. Looking at other on-line dealers, I conservatively saved between $300 and $400. After having an appraisal completed just after I received the stone, it turned out that the 1.19 stone weighed in at 1.198 (many may have misled a little and called it 1.2 carats). I also immediately verified the GIA inscription that matched all included paperwork. Even the owner of a local jewelry store said that he would not have been able to get close to the price due to his overhead - lights, employees, benefits, power & cooling of his store etc. One last note about negative reviews... Before I settled on Lumera, I saw a bad review that honestly gave me pause. After I read the well written and clear reply from Lumera regarding that bad review, I realized that I was more than comfortable giving them my business. We all know that people often unfairly criticize when something doesn't go their way and are just trying to take advantage of a situation. So glad I chose Lumera. Found something I liked, and decided to google online and see if anything was better quality/pricewise. Looked at Lumera's site and found better diamond for about $350 less. 1.08 carat, cushion cut, color G, clarity VVS1, excellent polish, very good cut, looked great in photo. Saw some bad reviews of Lumera but most were positive so took a chance since they had guarantee. Diamond arrived when they said, and it looked better than I could have asked for. You get exactly what is promised on the site for the best prices anywhere by employing a smart business tactic of being the middle man between the diamond suppliers and the consumers with minimal overhead.
TLDR: I bought a 1.15 carat, G color, internally flawless, excellent cut, excellent polish, excellent symmetry, and no florescence GIA certified diamond that is every bit as brilliant as you could imagine.
