"I placed our order on 2/15/03, and was notified on 2/17/03 that they were unable to verify our billing address. I wrote back on 2/21/03 with our bank's toll-free number so they could verify our credit card account. They wrote back on 2/22/03 asking me to confirm our bank's phone number. I wrote back confirming the number on 2/24/03, and later that day was notified that the order had shipped.

The turn-around time from order placement to shipping was 9 days, but in all fairness, the delay was caused by my entering our company name instead of my own in the 'customer name' field. Now that I understand how to complete the form properly, I'm sure our next order will be processed more quickly.

Also, the majority of the delays in correspondence by email were due to slow responses on our company's part -- we don't have staff available to constantly monitor email.

By the way, when I was having trouble logging in to our MStar account to review the invoice, they responded to my email within about 20 minutes and sent the username and password.

If the product we ordered performs well, I will most likely use MStar again in the future because their prices are competitive, and the shipping was free.

"They had the best price I could find on the motherboard I wanted (Asus A7n8X Deluxe). Ordered it on a sunday, order shipped the next day, and was at my door on wednesday. Incredebly fast, but...
Unfortunatley the board I got didnt work, oh well, it happens. Went through Asus tech support and verified board was dead, then filled out the online RMA form on the weekend. Monday comes, and I decided to give a call, couldnt get through on the RMA or order line (said mailbox full), but got through on one of the other lines. They said my RMA had been aproved and would probably ship before the end of the day. Pretty good so far, I just hope the board I recieve works. I'll update when I recieve the replacemnet

"Unfortunately I placed an order with this company on the 18th before I read thier listing on reseller ratings. I purchsed a chaintech motherboard along with some corsair matched pair ddr ram. I was very disturbed to find out that they charge my credit card BEFORE even shipping my order. I find that to be a very poor business practice and just because of that I will NEVER do business with them again. It is true that they do not respond to their emails. I have not yet tried to get them by phone but because of my time zone (gmt+9) it is hard to find the time. I have just recently used their web pages messaging form and I hope they will give me some kind of response as to the status of my order, only time can tell. I wish I had stuck with newegg.com like I usually do. It would have cost my six dollars more but at least I would have peace of mind when making such a costly puchase.

Called Mstar today (26 Feb 2003 @ 330am gmt+9) and got a hold of them on the first ring. So far so good. They said my order should be sent out today and I should receive an email with tracking number (we shall see). Supposedly the motherboard I ordered was on backorder (jeez, thanks for telling me!). Atleast now I know there is a human on the other side of this transaction. Now the question is: When the heck will it get here? To be continued....

"excellent seller!

I ordered a non-pro 128M from buymstar on 02/14, and just got it this afternoon. It's the old red PCB with L-shape memory. I found it through pricewatch. Pretty scared by it rating score on RR. I made a couple of calls before I placed the order to make sure they are selling the one I want. It's shipped by fedex ground, a little slow. But so far I am pretty happy. Just softmod it and 3d mark shows 13499, compared to original 11xxx. It's still on stock now.

"Made an order the night of feb, 3rd 2003 at approx 9:00pm
Called on Feb 3rd. 2003 at 10:00am as they did not answer the phone until then (hours of operation according to voice mail is 9:00 am to 5:00pm) Person answering phone sounded like he just rolled out of bed.
I told him id like to change or cancel my order of 2 hard drives and order just 1. He told me that it would best to just cancel and reorder what id like. I confirmed with him that my credit card would be credited shortly and that they would not send out the order. He said thats fine we will cancel it.
I ordered 1 hard drive following the phone call. and received it in about 4 days (around the 8th of feb. i belive)
about 5 days after that i received the 2 hard drives that were suppose to be canceled and that had been ordered before the order i had already gotten. calling the company doesnt seem to lead to any response as they dont answer the phones and dont respond to emails. ive filled out return rma info and have been left in the cold hoping my money will be returned as i followed their direction whit FedExing the package back (unopened)and have not seen a refund as of yet!
My advice to anyone reading this is to find somewhere else to purchase as this service is more then unacceptable... its on the edge of fraud i believe!

"Have purchased from this company on at least two occasions. First purchase was 340mb microdrive a couple of years ago. Most recent purchase was sticks of 256mb PC2100 DDR memory. On both occasions the items were shipped out within a couple of days and arrived in good working order. Memory was not shipped in a rigid mailer; however, and could have easily been damaged in transit although it did arrive safely this time.

These folks have competitive prices and I will consider them for future purchases if they have items I need.

"Where do I start?
A week after I placed my order, I emailed customer service to check status.... No reply.
A few days later I tried to call the 800 number from the web site.... Not working.
I then tried to call the regular customer service line... no answer, even after about 100 rings.
Finally I did find a number that put me through to a voice mail! I left a rather "terse" message that finally did provoke a response. Hopefully my item will appear as promised... we'll see...
