"There was no need to tour other schools after we toured Blue Valley Montessori (BVM) bc we knew that their teachers and school were/are the right place for us! If you are looking for a a childcare school, you definitely need to schedule a tour! This has been beneficial to both of our boys to learn at their own pace, build confidence and develop social skills. One of our sons had some behaviors that could be considered “difficult.” However, the teachers and director were so wonderful in enforcing strategies to help him learn to cope with his emotions while also progressing his educational learning. The communication my husband and I received from them helped us be consistent at home with the same strategies used at school on our son’s bad days. Our son is excelling in Kindergarten socially and academically. I contribute his success to the foundation BVM had helped build. Our younger son is still at BVM and absolutely loves going to school everyday."
"Overall, experiences has been decent. It has been good in some areas and less than great in others. Communication has been a huge downfall. Also, some things that were a selling point before enrolling have not held true like the calmness in a classroom. Also, most days it appears that no “curriculum” is occurring. The app service used by the company needs to be upgraded to provide parents with more information and direction so overall communication can possibly improve."
"Exceeded my expectations for a preschool! I am so happy we found BVM. The atmosphere created by the teachers (and staff) and students is calm and loving."
"Great! We love the staff and curriculum!"
"We absolutely LOVE this school and are so happy that we made the switch a couple of years ago. Our child is flourishing here! They have sparked an absolute love of learning and of school that was missing before. We really feel that all of the teachers care for every student at the school, whether they are in their individual classes or not. We only wish we would have known about Blue Valley Montessori sooner...We would have made the switch much faster!"
"Overall we had a good experience of the school. It was too bad that the class my child was in had a shortage of lead teacher for inevitable reason. It will be ideal that the staff staying throughout the year to provide the best quality education to students."
"Great nurturing environment for the kids."
"- our class teacher is good: very understanding, empathetic and communicative.- director is very nice and always wears a smile- school is under-staffed and you may feel it when u arrive with no one at reception.- Hygeine is ok but can be improved."
"The experience is good, the only complaint we have is that there is very poor communication, teachers and directors both, they do not do a good job of letting parents know what is going on at school or with your kids. If they were put on time out, you hear it from the kid not fro the teacher of the director. If dealing with a not respectful teacher or complaints the director tries to cover it as much as she can to not disrupt operations. We feel we never know what is happening."
"My general experience is very good."
"All the staff are super kind and nice and responsible. We love Mrs.Hurd and all other teachers!"
"We value and acknowledge our child's progress and believe the Montessori method will continue to help them to develop. We would like more interaction and would love to see staff/faculty demonstrate warmth, enthusiasm and offer a welcoming environment to our family."
"I recently withdrew my child from Blue Valley Montessori. I know of at least 4 other parents that have withdrawn their children as well. I am writing this to caution parents who might not realize troubling things happening at the school.
A parent told me her son came home saying that an assistant teacher yelled at and said some derogatory things to a lead teacher. My own child told me an assistant teacher was mad at her and shoved her. She also told me the same teacher was being rude and “yelly” to another child in class. All these behaviors go against Montessori principles but are tolerated at the school. The directors have been made aware but did not take action.
Parents have been uncomfortable with a certain male teacher at the school touching and behaving inappropriately toward girls. They have brought concerns to the directors, but the directors defended the male teacher and shot down parents’ concerns. The teacher in question is still working there, in company of young children every day.
We are no longer at the school and my child’s safety is no longer at stake. However, as a parent, I feel that I must warn other parents. Children are at risk at this school."
"We have had good reviews on this school that’s why we enrolled our kid but we have seen quality has gone done with mess teachers , unstable environment and teachers directors not interacting or concerned or engaged at the level that the school charges money or the quality of the school it used to be . Please have stable teachers and who are willing to be more engaged be and encouraged children to work with them"
"Loved the school. Sad to be leaving it for Boston. Definitely the best school my daughter has been to"
