"The tour was great and Jennifer, our tour guide, was fantastic. She was extremely knowledgeable of the school and the daily activities. I've reserved a spot for my son and have already told others about the school. Looking forward to my son starting in November!"
"I feel like teachers and director can do a lot better about reporting to parents when there is an incident. Also share more about the child’s day and actually upload pictures to see what children do throughout their day."
"I think it is a good school but I also think they can do better. Teacher sometimes look very tired, and I’ve witnessed them take it off on the children by yelling or not having much patience. I’ve brought this to the directors attention and she assured she would keep an eye out. Haven’t experienced it again."
"Greatwood Montessori is a great school overall. Their cleanliness is top notch and my child rarely got sick while there because the teachers were very good at spotting an illness and isolating it before it spreads. The curriculum is ok but can be improved and the kids should be encouraged to do a bit more instead of bringing home scribble scratch drawings every day."
"Very positive experience. Good feedback from teachers. My child has learned, and progressed well with this learning environment."
"This school is more like a glorified babysitter. I don’t really know what my child is learning as I do not receive any type of curriculum communication or reports. I’ve had two parent conference calls but nothing really elaborations on what the curriculum is or how he has mastered anything. My concerns over my child getting bit on many occasions has not been resolved."
"Great school with great staffs and teachers and teacher aids. Everyone is doing great job of teaching kids and loving them as well. I was so impressed when we experienced the storm not too long ago and the director and staffs stayed on top of that and will to stay at school until the last kid was picked up. That was really cool and I'm happy that we picked the right place to send my kid to everyday. Thank Thank you Thank you so much."
"My child has been in this school for less than 6 months. I’ve liked it so far, I do think teachers could share more about kids day. I find myself asking too many questions when they could just share what they did and what my child enjoyed the most. We get a report but sometimes they even forget to put what my child ate and how long was the nap. I just wished I would get more communication from their end. Other than that, it’s been great, they have a lot of activities for the kids and I know my child likes being there. "
"The school is clean and safe."
"Relatively good experience overall, teachers are always nice to talk to and provide good feedback. Would love to see more activities in the infant class."
"I’ve liked it so far. I do feel like I did have to ask for the teacher to be more nurturing to my child since he cried a lot because he was in a new environment. It has slowly been changing. It is getting easier on my child, myself and the teacher."
"We love this school, because my daughter had gained so much during her study here. All the teachers are so experienced and friendly."
"I have a mixed review regarding this school. The current director seems very clueless about the program, and has been unable to answer any questions I've had regarding tuition charges, schedules, and special activities in the classroom. She is unresponsive when I send her emails / phone calls regarding questions I may have. I have come to rely on the teachers and receptionist to answer any questions I have about the program or school schedule. However, my child is learning a lot and progressing with their level of reading. I believe the teachers do a great job of preparing children academically for kindergarten. However, the staff seems very unprofessional in their level of communication, which is unacceptable for the amount of tuition the school charges each month."
"The staff and teachers are nice and friendly."
"My overall experience has been pretty good. If I have a problem, I mention it to the director and some sort of action is taken within a reasonable time. Teacher turnover is a little higher than I would like. Communication of daily activities could be communicated better via Compass."
"We love the school, particularly the curriculum and the teachers and staff. We have always found our child's teachers very warm and attentive, and very communicative to us. We deeply appreciate the teachers communicating to us how our child's day went, particularly any tidbits about any activities she enjoyed or interactions she had with other children. We also are impressed by the quality of the snack/lunch program, particularly with the love and care that is put into planning and preparing the meals. We want to note also that we love the organic choices as well in the food preparation. We have also found the new director to be attentive and caring, and we are hopeful and optimistic about the direction the school is going in. The only concern we have is regarding the aforementioned school policy towards allowing children who are sick (contagious) to attend school. Because there is no reduction in tuition or compensation for when a child is absent due to illness, parents feel the need to send their sick children to school without much regard to the other children in class. Every time my child catches something from a classmate, the rest of the family falls sick as well, including our child's infant sibling at home. While we understand that illness are common in daycare/school centers, we feel that the school is in a unique position to discourage parents from bringing sick children to school to help prevent the spread of sickness, which causes not only other children to miss school, but teachers and staff members as well."
