"Pleasant start - very helpful, knowledgeable and responsive staff. The order process is a little convoluted, clearly protects M-tech and leaves the customer wondering why they are not to be trusted. I had a shipping timing bungle what could have been avoided with a little communication that was resolved after the fact. Would give m-tech excellent marks had they been pro-active. The system has performed - small and fast is what I needed and that's what I got. "
"In December 2008 I discovered that the hardware they I paid for, did not actually exist in the laptop. The invoice said one thing, and the hardware was another. I started another complaint against M-Tech with the BBB based on the misrepresentation of the product. M-Tech's response to all of this was that I am mistaken and all kinds of dreamed up facts. I immediately provided proof but with the support of the Better Business Bureau they dragged this for months before finally changing their story.
When I asked for a refund based on them lying, with the support of the Better Business Bureau, they delegated the blame on another company called Prostar. M-Tech said that they only charged $500 while Prostar charged the rest up to $5100, and that they not responsible and that I should go after them, their own business partners. Imagine that, based on their suggestions I should be going after everyone who participated in the making of this product all the way to the mines that extracted the copper used in the boards and chips.
This company is the poster boy for BAD business and customer alienation and nobody should have to deal with such a degree of a shameless lying and lack of respect. Yes, they will be nice to you until they take your money, after that you’re on your own. Like many people here with similar experiences I strongly recommend another company for your laptop buying needs. This company took my money for something they didn’t provide and used some of it to buy BBB’s A rating which has nothing to do with the reality of their business practices. I say this because it is October 23, 2009 and I am yet to see the BBB putting any kind of pressure on this sixth-rate company to pay up.
For those of you who bought a D900K in the June 2006 period, you will notice that your invoice states that the laptop has DDR2, but in fact it has and only supports DDR. Because of their lie, you should be entitled of a full refund. If there are a few of us, we should get together and initiate a class action suit."

"Nice enough website and ordering experience. Just reeeaaaly dissapointed in the product. My D900T laptop hasn't even lasted a year and a half. Its always been treated well and it was expected for the price to be a quality/reliable/portable desktop replacement. It started with the menapausal Nvidia graphis card dying slowly and eventually (within a month) wouldnt even turn on. The audio CD function would still work though. Nice to have a 3,000 dollar, 15 pound, bookend/walkman huh?
The unit is now involved in a now 2 month plus tour of the US to be perhaps someday repaired. Phillips does the warranty, has it shipped to micromedics1, who now states that it muct be shipped to Prostar and will be tied up at least another month. I've noticed that either Clevo quit making the D900T OR M-Tech has quit selling them at this time. Geee wonder why?......

Service is great from Jerry in sales to tech support and no calls to India! If I need something or have a question, I can pick up the phone and talk to a real person. I've had my laptop for 2 years and it's been great!

"I am a long-time customer of Mtech Laptops- since 2000. In that time, I have purchased two high-end laptops from Mtech, which I use for gaming, surfing the internet, and word processing.
I am a very satisfied customer of theirs, not just because of their vastly superior product they sell, but also because of their committment to customer service and satisfaction before and after the sale.
The laptop products they sell are the best. They are the highest quality of Laptop that I have ever seen, and with the most features available that are very hard to find elsewhere.
In every step of the ordering process, they always made sure that my order is exactly what I wanted, and that it would be processed safely. With all the recent concerns about Credit Card fraud, Mtech laptops was always doing what was necessary to protect me as a customer from ID theft and Credit Card fraud. I really appreciated what they did to help me with that. There aren't that many companies that I have done business with over the years that go as far as what Mtech does to protect me and all their customers. I wish that more companies do what Mtech Laptops does to try to protect their customers.
I could not be more pleased with Mtech laptops, and I will be a customer of theirs for life."
"I purchased the M-Tech D700T a little less than a year ago. After about five months, the laptop began having unknown hardware failures. I sent the laptop back to the company (i had to pay for shipping), and a week later they recieved it. After holding the computer for another seven days, they stated that my motherboard was replaced. They shipped it back via UPS ground, which took another week. When i got the laptop back, it still did not work, so i sent it back again. About three days later, it was recieved by Prostar computers. After three days, they called me and stated that there was nothing wrong with my computer, and sent it back to me. A week later, I recieved my broken computer. I called them again, telling them that the laptop still did not work even after a full reformatting. I sent the laptop back for a third time, and after three days they recieved it. They stated that the laptop case broke in the mail, and that i would be charged for it. They also concluded that the memory was defective, so they replaced that. They then proceeded to charge me for the case and for shipping for the way back, which took another week. After a week of having a working computer, the PCMCIA slot stopped working, and I noticed the speakers on the monitor were not working. The laptop was sent back, and week later they recieved it. After two business days, they contacted me and stated that the motherboard would be replaced, as would the memory. Both of these parts were replaced previously; the memory only a few weeks beforehand. I should receive the computer from Prostar in about a week.
My warrenty ends at the end of the month, so when the computer breaks again, im screwed.
The laptops M-Tech sells are cheap for a reason. They're unreliable, and their customer service is horrid. They have treated me like absolute garbage ever since I bought the computer. Avoid this company at all costs. "
"This computer store is very cheap, despite a $200ish fee they charge for order security. I got an MTech D470K with 2048MB of RAM, huge 17" widescreen monitor, full size keyboard w/numpad, ATI radeon 9700 mobile 128MB video memory, built in microphone, 5 speakers including subwoofer, 60GB 7200 RPM HDD, AMD 64 3400+ CPU, upgraded wireless internet card (internal); all for under $1900 including shipping. Pretty darn good. I would buy a computer from them in the future (and probably will). Gerald Michrina (Jerry) was very helpful."
"The sales rep lied about their ability to deliver the laptop I ordered.
After I placed the order I discovered that they were shipping it through a third-party, ARM Computers. I had previously contacted ARM directly and inquired about the same notebook, and they told mey they could not deliver it in the time frame I required. Mtech, on the other hand, told me a shipment was coming in. Since I had difficulty finding this model of laptop (Compal ACL00) at other vendors, I asked the Mtech rep to check and make sure that there was a shipment coming in, and he told me that there was.
Over the next 3 weeks I contacted Mtech repeatedly to check on the status of the order, and the "shipment" that was supposed to arrive did not arrive, and they kept telling me to call back next week...and the next week...
It is clear to me that Mtech lied about what they could deliver in order to get my order, thinking that they could get me to wait once they had my money.
I cancelled my order, and it took over 3 months for the money to be returned to my account. On top of that they kept $5 just to annoy me. (Nowhere in their contract do they have a restocking fee or some such that would justify them keeping my $5).
Avoid this company folks."

"I ordered one unit from M-Tech. When informed they had ran into an over heating problem with the first batch of this unit I changed the order. I finally settled for and received a model M8100 from them. It uses the P4 desktop processor line in a portable. I am very happy with the unit. So far it has been like a dream come true.
There were no problems encountered with changing the order due to the circumstances. No extra charges were incurred."
