"These guys are horrible. We received an open box with burned fabric bleached and they kept insisting that it was DUST. Open box to them means USED and deteriorating.
We sent pictures, but ... they tried to drive us crazy. Buyer beware.

"I purchased a Steelcase Leap chair from Madison Seating for a Christmas gift for my husband. I had a very frustrating time with customer service after my chair arrived broken. New parts weren't shipped for almost a month, leading to being very upset with them.
After I posted a review about my negative experience here and a few other places, the company contacted me and apologized, and sent me a new chair at no cost. I left the experience with a good bit of faith restored in Madison Seating. "
"First, to all of you that complained that you got a used chair. You are fool to believe you get a new chair at 1/2 the new price. What are you thinking? "Open Box" is a marketing gimmick, but it doesn't mean "New". Nowhere is it stated that you are getting a "New" chair. You may get replacement cheap vinyl arms and casters to dress up the areas that wear the most. But, so what? The rest of the chair is in very good shape and you are saving $600 off the cost of a new chair.
OK, nothing wrong with a used chair if it arrives in good shape; that seems to be a bit hit or miss reading the reviews. My Aeron arrived with broken arms, like so many other chairs, but otherwise looked good. Customer Service blamed it on the shipper; I think it was poor QC. Lots of people receive chairs in excellent condition, so don't get too worried. Reading the reviews, those with major defects seem to get replacement parts/chairs overall in a reasonable time.
Customer service was courteous and timely to send out replacement parts. Ultimately I returned the chair because the Pellicle seemed unusually stiff. My money was promptly returned. No hassle at all. Despite the outcry of bad CS, mine was quite the opposite.
So bottom line, you get what you pay for. Set your expectations reasonably, and you will be quite satisfied."

"Ordered an 'open box' Steelcase Leap V2 for a good price, but the chair arrived in unusable condition with the main back support broken. I sent an email with photos of the damage to customer service and received a reply the next morning. They have offered a replacement and are allowing me to "keep the broken one for spare parts" rather than ship it back. Their only stipulation is that I provide this positive review prior to shipping my replacement. While holding my replacement until I leave a review is not what I would consider best practice, I am content with this resolution as long as the replacement arrives in good, working condition. If I have any further issues, I will be returning to revise my review or post a new one. "

"We ordered four Improv H.E. Chair by Haworth. The chairs were delivered promptly as promised. They are well built and comfortable. We discovered one of the chairs did not work properly so we contacted the company and they sent out a replacement with no questions asked. "

"I must admit, I was rather skeptical about the prices being offered on their site. However, I rolled the dice, and two weeks later, a brand new Steelcase Leap v2 arrived at my doorstep. In less than 30 seconds to assemble the chair top to the pneumatic cylinder and the base (total, 3 pieces) I was in business. Flawless product.
Beyond this, is the astounding communication and courtesy of the team there at Madison. Everyone was so polite and accommodating. I give them my highest recommendation, and I'm usually one of those pain in the **** customers who never rates anything a 10 or 5 stars! Great work Madison, I'll be back and I'll be recommending you to everyone I know!"

"I have been getting Steelcase chairs over the past year from Madison Seating and all has been good. On my last order 16 Leap V2 Steel Chairs when the came in 2 of the chair were damage. I E-Mail Madison Customer Service they reply. I was able to use the two chairs replace parts making one good chair. Then Madison replace the other chair with a new one. Madison advise me to keep the broken chair for parts. This was all taking care of in one day.

"We were outfitting our office with new chairs $$$$$$. Luckily, we found Madison Seating and they had the exact chairs we wanted at less than half the cost. Free shipping (the other company wanted a lot of money for freight). One of the chairs arrived damaged, I provided the Customer Service with a few photos and they are replacing the chair.
Great prices and service. Just make sure if you order a chair and you don't know if you like it that you adhere to their return/exchange policy.

"A colleague recommended Madison Seating leading me to a purchase. I was wary about buying a chair without sitting in it, but my colleague said he loved his chair, so I did. The chair arrived two days earlier than expected but both arms were broken. In the packing info there were instructions for reporting damage. The options were to call or email. I called and the customer service person told me to send an email instead. Kinda weird. Why not just make clear instructions to email? Regardless, I sent the email and they're sending me a replacement. Easy peasy. Assuming the replacement isn't also defective, I'd say this was a good deal with a company that stands by their product."
"This place is HORRIBLE! I ordered a new Herman Miller Chair for $690. The chair came used and worn. I requested a refund. They didn't want to accept a refund for the chair and said it was an "open box" sale which is why the price was "only" $690. The website made it look like a BRAND NEW chair. No where on the site did it say "used" "open box" or anything like that. I called BS on the deal and said I was going to leave feedback regarding this purchase. They told me to file a complaint with their lawyer. Finally I got them to accept the return, however it cost me $160 to ship the product back to them and then they charged me for original shipping and a restocking fee. I ended up getting back from them $540. After my shipping charges this entire BS fiasco cost me $310 for NOTHING! BUYER BEWARE!! THESE GUYS SELL CRAP AND TRY TO SLIP IN UNDER THE RADAR!!! DON'T PURCHASE FROM THESE GUYS, THE PRICE IS NOT WORTH IT."
