I’m a big fan of Madisound. An owner, Adam Johnson, is completely honest, deeply knowledgeable and very helpful. I’ve dealt with Madisound since 2014, and, if they have what I need, I order from them. In addition to Adam’s merits, Madisound’s prices for parts are better than I’ve found elsewhere.

My first Linkwitz/Madisound project was the LXmini speaker system; I bought the drivers, DSP and wood parts from Madisound. I’m now adding the LXsub4, which is a dipole woofer system; it will replace an 18” Velodyne servoed sub. As before, I bought drivers, DSP and wood parts from Madisound. LXmini + LXsub4 = LXstudio.

If you’re not familiar with Linkwitz Lab and Siegfried Linkwitz’s superb, world-class loudspeakers, you can peruse his extensive and educational site at: https://www.linkwitzlab.com. As far as I know, Madisound is one of only two sources of kits for Linkwitz speaker systems on the planet, and the other is in Germany. Adam is the Linkwitz expert at Madisound.

Unless you’re a cabinet maker and want the project, I highly recommend the flatpacks for both the LXmini and LXsub4. The sub4 flatpack is tongue and grove and is very precise. (Mixed news for me, the pieces are sufficiently precise that the expensive clamps I ordered from Amazon for the project weren’t really necessary.)

"I live in the UK and ordered 2 x Scan-Speak Aperiodic Vent (SSV), as they're not available in the UK.

I found the site easy to use and the order process quick and was happy to find that my order could be delivered to my work address (something some UK companies won't do) and accepted Paypal for payment.

The delivery price of $29.99 seemed reasonable so I placed my order.

I quickly received a conformation of my order and soon after another email informing that Madisound were going to REDUCE the postage costs! I couldn't believe it, I order quite alot online and have never had anyone inform me that I'm going to reimbursed a postage cost as the supplier had found a cheaper courier-this really is 1st class customer service and I will certainly recommend Madisound to everyone!
