"I was ordering a remote tailgate lock for my truck using the Toyota app. As part of the ordering process, it asked for the VIN number to verify the part would be compatible with the vehicle and so I supplied it. After dropping off the vehicle for the service I was called and told it was the wrong part and was told what the proper part number was to order.
Two issues I have. One the failure of the ordering process not to catch the wrong part as it claims to be able to do and the second is the service department should have worked with the parts department to just swap out for the correct part instead of me needing to order another part then return the wrong one for a refund.
Given that I will admit the parts got to the dealer the next day and the part was installed quickly. "
